2/3 NXT in Nashville, Tenn.: Gargano & Larae vs. Almas & Vega, Ember vs. Belair, Black vs. Velveteen Dream, Sanity vs. Undisputed Era

(1) No Way Jose defeated Cezar Bononi. Fun and quick match.

(2) Lacey Evans & Shana Bazzler defeated Nikki Cross & Dakota Kai. The heels dominated the faces for most the match. In the end, Dakota tapped to Bazzler.

(3) Roderick Strong beat Kassius Ohno. Great back and forth match. The crowd really did’t know who to cheer for so they cheered  them both. Great match ending when Ohno tapped out to the crossface.

(4) Sanity defeated Undisputed Era. Sanity took the early advantage and beat down the heels. After some rule bending U.E. gained control. Sanity took the win with Eric Young delivering a Macho Man-like elbowdrop. Eric Young stayed in the ring with the crowd going wild chanting “E.Y., E.Y., E.Y.!” He came back to the ring and said there is no wrestling city like Nashville and said he loves it here. Really good match considering it’s a house show.

(5) Aleister Black defeated Velveteen Dream. Black took control early but Dream came back. Dream had him in an arm bar and the crowd started a “Rusev Day!” chant. Dream released the hold and did DX crotch chops to the crowd and said, “I got your Rusev Day.” Aleister took back control and won with the Black Mass. Great match. Dream had lots of fans behind him until he took off his jacket and showed he was wearing a Tom Brady jersey.

(6) Ember Moon defeated Bianca Belair to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Good crowd reaction for Bianca because she’s from right down the road in Knoxville. A “Fight Forever” chant broke out. Very hard hitting match. Ember won with the Eclipse.

(7) Johnny Gargano & Candice Lerae defeated Cien Almas & Zelina Vega. Great match from both the men and women on this one. Candice got some offense on Almas as well as Vega on Gargano. Johnny and Candice won by making both the heels tap at the same time. Mr. and Mrs. Wrestling stuck around for a good five to ten minutes posing for pictures and gave a nice speech thanking fans.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This show was awesome. It had Takeover-caliber matches from start to finish.
