SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

NXT LIVE EVENT
DECEMBER 1, 2017
ALTOONA, PA.
REPORT BY DAVE MADDAS, PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT

This was the first time since around 2008 that a WWE show has come to the area. Wasn’t a very big crowd which isn’t surprising since there was almost no advertising for the event in the area. But it was still an engaging crowd.

(1) Street Profits defeated Tino Sabatelli & Riddick Moss – Both teams were very vocal with each other and the crowd. Montez Ford got the pin on Sabatelli after a frog splash.

(2) Lars Sullivan defeated No Way Jose. No Way went through the crowd before the match to dance and slap hands with the crowd. Sullivan won with the freak accident.

(3) Ruby Riott defeated Sonya Deville. Good match but the crowd wasn’t too into it. Riott won with her kick to the side of Deville’s head.

(4) Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish defeated Sanity to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles. Very good match that started before the bell and spilled into the crowd.. Crowd was very into this match. O’Reilly I belive it was rolled up Eric Young to get the win.

(5) Aleister Black defeated Chad Lail (Gunner from Impact). Crowd was very into Black. Crowd started chanting Gunner, Gunner early and he yelled back to shut up. Black won with the Black Mass kick.

(6) Ember Moon defeated Bianca Bel Air to retain the NXT Women’s Title Match. Crowd very into Moon. I was impressed with seeing Bel Air live. She defintely has a future once she gets a little more seasoning in. Moon won with a very impressive looking Eclipse.

(7) Andrade Cien Almas defeated Rodrick Strong and Adam Cole in a triple threat match to retain the NXT Title. Match of the night. All three wrestlers were very over. Cole probably the most over. Cole bailed at the very start of the match and wanted Almas and Strong to get it on. Zelina a little later talked Almas and Cole to work together while they were outside the ring but held Almas out of the ring when they were both to get back into the ring which left Cole alone with Strong. At one point Cole and Almas too sweeted each other so they knew they were on the same page to work over Strong. Finish came when Cole was lying out outside the ring and Almas had the ref occupied which allowed Zelina to come in and hit Strong with a huracanrana facebuster; then Almas hit his double arm DDT on Strong for the win.

After the match Adam Cole came over to Britt Baker who was sitting front row just in front of me and hugged her and gave her a kiss. Then Almas went around and did fist bumps with alot of the crowd despite being the heel. He still played up being the heel by not fist bumping people with shirts he didn’t like. The guy sitting next to us had a DIY shirt on and Zelina and Almas had some fun with him. Overall a very fun show. Hoping the crowd size doesn’t keep them from coming back in the future.

QUICK TIPS FOR SENDING RESULTS

If you attend an arena event in future, either house shows or TV tapings, we encourage you to send us a report for publication. You can direct your reports to: pwtorch@pwtorch.com.

We accept reports in any format, but if it’s not much trouble, please format your report like you see above, with the matches numbered like this (1) , (2) , (3) , with the opening line of each match paragraph stating who beat whom (don’t just say Wrestler A vs. Wrestler beat with the result listed later; instead, state up front who won so those readers who don’t have time to read the entire report (i. e. their boss walks past their cubicle all the time looking beat their shoulder) can at least quickly assess the results.

Also, please list tag teams using the “&” symbol as opposed to stating “and. ” Reserve use of ” and” when listing results in a three-way or four-way match where there are no teams (i. e. ” Wrestler A beat Wrestler B and Wrestler C in a three-way match” ) so it is easy to differentiate a handicap match from a three-way match.
