ANNOUNCED BY WWE
- WWE Champion A.J. Styles takes on the Singh brothers in a handicap match.
- The New Day and American Alpha 2.0 battle for the next shot at the Usos.
- Kevin Owens versus Randy Orton: Real or fake?
- What’s next for the next women of Smackdown? A six-person tag that’s what.
“CHOREOGRAPHY”
The heat on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn has reached its boiling point. Last week general manager Daniel Bryan decided to make the duo suffer for their Survivor Series actions by placing them in a lumberjack match, and even though the Canadians were able to sneak away with a victory, the punishment Sami Zayn suffered afterwards got the point across. K.O. on the other hand dropped to Daniel Bryan’s feet and begged to keep his job. Whether all of this is stemming from actual backstage difficulty dating back to the European tour, or if it’s all some elaborate work, it seems that the torture of Kevin and Sami will continue as the former face of America goes one-on-one with the Apex Predator Randy Orton this evening. Orton and Owens even have a separate twitter beef to settle.
“LETS START A RIOT”
The women’s division for both brands of the WWE has increased drastically since last week. Paige’s return will certainly be received well, but how her lackeys Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose will fare still remains to be seen. Ruby Riot has led her own faction of baddies to Tuesday nights, bringing with her the Carmella clone Liv Morgan, and one of the Mae Young Classic standouts Sarah Logan. Rumor is circulating that Paige maybe the mastermind behind both gangs, but as for now it seems that Riot is front and center for the blue brand invasion, and she will lead her team in a six-woman tag tonight in Lexington against the current champion Charlotte, and two former champions in Natalya and Naomi.
“HANDICAP? NO PROBLEM”
-A.J. Styles may have defended his title against Jinder at Starrcade, but that doesn’t mean the Maharaja is done chasing his former prized possession. Tonight his Indian brothers Sunil and Samir Singh take on the Phenomenal One in handicap action.
-The tag scene for Smackdown is becoming rather interesting. The newly formed Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin haven’t been defeated yet, and still hold a countout victory over the SD champions the Usos. However, the New Day look to prove why they were the longest reigning champions of all time and get back in the hunt. These two teams will clash tonight for the first time. Meanwhile Breezango continues their weekly shenanigans, this week being SAW themed even though Halloween is nearly two months over. Don’t forget about the Bludgeon Brothers, who squashed their first T.V. opponents with ease. Will Harper and Rowan (no first names) be next in line for a title shot?
-Baron Corbin is still riding the high from his triumph over The Miz at Survivor Series, but who will challenge next for his United States title? Well, during the lumberjack match last week he did initiate a fight with the Glorious One Bobby Roode, so perhaps that is the path that will be taken.
-Shinsuke seems like he is currently just drifting into no man’s land. Hopefully the King of Strong Style finds a path towards success beginning tonight.
