SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

PWTorch has learned that Drew McIntyre did suffer an arm injury near the end of the NXT Title match at NXT Takeover WarGames tonight in Houston, Tex. He will be evaluated probably on Monday to ascertain the extent of his injury. It may or may not cause lost ring time. The title change was planned, and an audible was not called mid-match, as some on social media have speculated or wondered about.

Keller’s Analysis: That will be an unfortunate setback if he misses ring time, as that feud had clicked and Andrade Cien Almas has really gained momentum, and he doesn’t really have a credible top tier babyface in NXT ready to step up and replace Drew in the NXT Title picture. It could lead to an acceleration of the Velveteen Dream vs. Aleister Black feud, so Black can move into the title picture against Almas right away, which would be unfortunate as it would interrupt and derail two good NXT feuds that were just getting started.

I recorded a 60+ minute VIP Roundtable with PWTorch’s two NXT contributors Kelly Wells and Justin James going in-depth in analyzing the entire NXT Takeover show and a look at what’s next in the booking scheme for the NXT men’s title and women’s title, plus more. It’s a great conversation worth checking out. If you’re not a VIP member, you can hear that tonight and my Wade Keller Hotline answering VIP member questions about Takeover right now for FREE.
