“IF YOU CAN’T BEAT EM…JOIN EM?”

Roderick Strong continues to be an underdog we can root for. His effort to dethrone new NXT Champion Drew McIntyre was A+, but in the end he couldn’t survive the vicious claymore kick that has been the signature weapon in the arsenal of the big Scotsman. Afterwards both men shook hands in respect after a competitive contest, but Strong would be met at the entrance way by some of his former Ring of Honor mates…THE UNDISPUTED. In the past Adam Cole & Company might have used that opportunity to lay a beating on then messiah of the backbreaker, but instead it looks as if they were trying to recruit him. After another failed attempt at grabbing gold, will Roddy turn to the dark side to fulfill his greatest desire? With several weeks left before Takeover Houson, anything could happen.

Meanwhile, McIntyre now looks forward towards a new challenger. While Adam Cole seems like the most predictable opponent, I have a feeling that the Undisputed must first rid themselves of the SANITY problem that they dug themselves into. Who does that leave?

WELL…

“CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE, CHANGE YOUR DESTINY”

It’s no lie that since Zolita Vega became the manager for Andrade Cien Almas his career took a massive swing towards success. He’s now been on a pretty impressive win streak which includes a W over Johnny Gargano in a dynamite opener from Takeover Brooklyn III. It seemed in that particular match that Johnny Wrestling was about to triumph until Zolita threw a DIY shirt at Johnny shattering his attention long enough for Cien to take advantage. Since then Johnny has been trying his best to regain his confidence, but you can tell that the events that took place in Chicago are still deeply troubling him. With that said, he did defeat the likes of Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss and has asked William Regal for a rematch against the former luchador. That rematch takes place tonight. Whoever wins could certainly make a case to be the next to face McIntyre.

“INSANE SANE”

Full Sail may be missing their Empress, but it rejoices in the emergence of the Mae Young Classic Winner…Kairi Sane. The Japanese Pirate sensation made her debut last week defeating Aliyah in quick fashion and already gaining momentum as the first announced competition for the Fatal-Four Way for the vacant NXT Women’s championship. Who will join her in that match? Well, tonight we get a part of that answer as Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce, and Liv Morgan go at it in the first qualifier ahead of Takeover. Spoilers are out for the full card, but if you want to play it safe and enjoy what should be a fun three-way you’ll wait until 8pm eastern time. Ruby Riot is still looking to jockey a position into this massive title bout, and of course, don’t forget about Ember Moon, who may be biding her time to take full advantage of the absence of Asuka.

“IT’S NOT A DREAM IF IT HURTS”

-Aleister Black was supposed to face a debuting Lio Rush but the Velveteen Dream Pearl Harbor’d Rush in an effort to gain Black’s attention. Black has already stated in an interview that he will not give Dream the attention he desires, referring to him by his REAL name Patrick. Black may be a bad ass, but antagonizing the obviously dangers Dream may have been a bad idea.

-Lars Sullivan is a big scary dude and he enjoys hurting tiny non-scary guys. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan have been the most recent superstars on Lars’s path. To quote a famous now 50 year old Universal Champion…”Who’s Next?!” My money would be on the KO king Kassius Ohno who has also been on a massive win streak since he squashed his beef with Hideo Itami.

-Who knows what’s brewing behind the curtains between SANITY and the Undisputed. Will the two factions clash again on television?

Lots of exciting stuff! How great is NXT right now?!

IT’S JUST

TOO

SWEET.
