WWE LIVE EVENT REPORT – RAW BRAND
AUGUST 4, 2017
HALIAX, NOVA SCOTIA
REPORT BY GLEN M., PWTORCH CORRESPONDENT
(1) Sheamus & Cesaro beat The Revival to retain the Raw Tag Team Titles. Good match with both teams playing heel. The Revival beat down and double-teamed Sheamus for most of the match until Cesaro got the hot tag and got the win with the Neutralizer
(2) Jason Jordan beat Elias. The match started with a “We Want Gable” chant and Jordan said “Me too.” A decent back and forth match with Jordan finishing it with the neck breaker.
(3) Alexa Bliss beat Sasha Banks and Nia Jax. Very good women’s match. Each woman had their turn staying on the outside. Alexa won when Sasha had the Bank Statement on Jax and pulled Sasha back and pinned her out of nowhere.
(4) Big Cass vs. Enzo. Enzo came out before the match did his usual speil on the way to the ring. He slipped and fell, but got right back up. Enzo attacked Cass before the match, but there was no referee to be found. Cass just big booted Enzo and went on the mic and left. No match actually happened.
(5) Finn Balor beat Bray Wyatt. A really good match with these two. Balor got in a lot of the offense. He hit the dropkick into the corner and went for the Coup de Grace. Bray rolled out of the way and hit Balor with a chair and got DQ’d. Balor ended up fighting back and hit the Coup de Grace.
Intermission
(6) Neville pinned Akira Tozawa to retain the Cruiserweight Title. Neville worked on Tozawa’s injured shoulder most of the match. The crowd was strongly behind Tozawa. Neville ended up winning by submission with the Rings of Saturn.
(7) Dean Ambrose beat Karl Anderson (w/Luke Gallows). It was a basic singles match. Gallows tried to help every chance he could when the ref was turned, but Dean came out on top with the Dirty Deeds. The crowd was very hot for Ambrose.
(8) Roman Reigns beat Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe. Good match. A lot like the match we saw on Monday. Stairs were used. Roman hit Braun with the stairs and then speared Joe and pinned him.
Final Notes: No Miz, Hardys, or Seth Rollins. The Hardys were advertised to appear up until two days ago. Seth was still advertised to appear, but never showed up. A lot of fans wanted to see the Hardys with lots of “Delete” chants.
Estimated attendance between 4,000-5,000 which is a sellout for the arena.
