INTRO
As always Renee Young and Daniel Bryan welcomed us to the show. Bryan was under the weather tonight. Renee mentioned Bryan’s sweater looking very Mr. Rogers. Bryan asked Renee about slapping The Miz in face tonight on Smackdown. Renee said Miz calling her out on Smackdown crossed the line, mentioning her real life relationship with Dean Ambrose. So she crossed the line. Renee said it makes her feel sweaty just thinking of it. Bryan said he feels sweaty, too.
Santa burst onto the set with a large bag slung over his shoulder to give out gifts for Renee and Bryan. Renee and Bryan offered to let Santa stay. Santa became creepy real fast as he asked Renee, “Am I happy to see you Renee, or is this just a mic under my beard.” It looks as though Santa is going to join us for the rest of the show.
Guest 1: Baron Corbin
Renee introduced our first guest Baron Corbin. The room went quiet, the mood quickly changed. Corbin said it takes Bryan to get sick to make good decisions, other than that sweater. Referring to adding him to a Triple Threat WWE World Championship match next week. Renee asked Corbin about next week’s title match. Corbin said he belongs in these championship matches. Bryan said he should get some credit for putting Corbin in the match. Corbin said he put a beating on Dolph Ziggler and A.J. Styles stuck his nose in things like he always does. Corbin brought up walking the carpet at the Revolver Music Awards and winning an award himself for Most Metal Athlete. He questioned Bryan’s judgment for making a number one contenders match last week without him.
Renee cut in to ask how the Triple Threat stipulation will influence Corbin in the match. Corbin said A.J. will be crying this new year for no longer being Champion. Bryan asked if those steel chair shots to the back by A.J. Styles hurt. Corbin said that’s a dumb question. Santa mumbles and blithers nonsense as he butts in about Corbin being on the naughty list. Corbin said, “If you don’t like me, you can leave or change your mind. Corbin exists the set.
Bryan said to Santa, “I didn’t like the way he was talking to you.” Santa inches closer up to Renee. They plugged next weeks Smackdown with the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship between A.J. Styles, Dolph Ziggler and Baron corbin. They plug the WWE Smackdown Women’s Chsmpionship matchbetween Alexa Bliss and Becky Lynch, the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship 4 Corners Elimination match Wyatts taking on The Usos, American Alpha and Rhyno and Heath Slater. Finally they plugged the return of (drum roll please…) John Cena. Renee mentioned Cena doing great on SNL. Santa said Cena’s always on the nice list. Santa then complains he’s too hot and then asked Renee to go ahead and touch him to get on Santa’s naughty list. Nothing like a little workplace sexual harassment to entertain the WWE Universe. Santa went further suggesting to Renee his eyes may wonder, hubba hubba hubba ho ho ho. Renee told Santa to slow his roll. Renee tried to switch gear and asked Bryan how Smackdown stands going into new year. Bryan said the Smackdown roster has really stepped it up. Then the Luchadora popped onto the set.
Guest 2: Luchadora/Becky Lynch
Santa was excited to give a present to the masked Luchadora. Luchadora removed her mask to reveal she is indeed Becky Lynch which was almost as convincing a secret as Rhyno playing Santa. Becky said she did this with the help of Bryan to prove a point that Alexa is running from her and Becky can beat her. Becky talked about how Alexa stomped the dreams of some young new comer in her debut last week and she won’t stand for that.
Renee asked Becky about their rematch next week. Becky said she needs to be the champion. She needs it because she can’t stand to see how Alexa is representing the Women’s Division. Renee asked what the women’s locker room thinks of Alexa as champion. Becky said they are unmotivated. Becky said that everyone on top cheats and does grimey things. She asked, “Is that the message we want to send?” Renee asked Bryan where he stands on that as he has been on both sides before. Bryan said, “If you can do it yourself, I applaud whatever it takes to get you there.”
Bryan said in his early days he used to break the rules more, but towards the end of his career he tried to follow the rules unless someone else broke them first. Santa chimes in to get Becky’s attention then reveals his bare chest rubbing in circles with cookie crumbs. Becky is disgusted. Santa dropped a cookie down in his suit and asked Renee to go find it. Bryan offered to go find it. Santa declined, but invites the girls to a party at his hotel. Becky said, “That was really crummy of you.” Santa took a while to get it, another Becky Lynch pun. Becky said that Alexa should wrap the belt and put it under the tree for her, and save Alexa the trouble of losing it next week. Becky then exits the set.
Renee brought up the tag team title contender match from last week. Santa burps loud in Renee’s face. She said she can smell it. Renee mentioned that Zack Ryder ruptured his patella tendon last week and will need surgery. Renee felt sorry for the “poor guy” and said ever since he lost the Intercontinental Title, the WWE Universe has had his back and now this injury happens setting him back again. Renee asked Bryan if it can be fuel to come back motivated. Bryan said he hoped Ryder does, but it’s not the first time Ryder’s been injured and had a setback. Santa said he’s looking forward to the tag match. Bryan said, “Santa is a little handsy today.” Santa said “I’m always handsy, and sweaty and burpy. Renee asked if Santa was particularly interested in Rhyno and Heath Slater. Santa, eating cheese and crackers, said Rhyno and Slater are never on the naughty list.
Guest 3: Natalya
“Santa’s a bit creepy,” Natalya said as she entered the set. Renee said Santa is making her job difficult. Renee asked Natalya why she attacked Nikki Bella and lied about it after as long as they have been friends and Natalya helping train Nikki and Bree Bella. Natalya said to put the spotlight back on her. Natalya said the Bellas both became great wrestlers. She name dropped PWI Magazine ranking Nikki the number one female wrestler.
Natalya said she trained them and they get everything they have handed to them. She said she is a Hart and wrestling royalty and everything the Bellas get is suppose to be her. Natalya said she is tired of taking a backseat to everyone. Renee asked why Natalya had to go so low? Bryan asked why attack Nikki from behind? Natalya said she should have been team captain at Survivor Series. Bryan said she lost the match for the captain’s spot.
Natalya said that things manifest when you get kicked down and you realize you’re royalty and she said she deserves everything the Bellas get too and she deserved to get them first. Natalya said she should be champion and she regrets helping everyone. Natalya repeated, “I am royalty, I am a Hart.” She asked, “Do you know who my uncle is? My uncle is Bret the Hitman Hart.” Renee asked where Natalya goes now? Natalya said they should all take a moment and digest what happened. Natalya said Santa should put Carmella on the naughty list for ratting her out.
Natalya closed up by saying she is sick of Nikki being looked at as the best and the prettiest. She said her family should have gotten the Total Divas spin off show. Natalya said, “There is no revolution without me.” Natalya walked off. To break the awkward silence with something even more awkward, Santa said, “It looks like she’s on the naughty list, in a good way.”
Bryan said he’s trying to stay out of this because of Brie and Nikki being his family. Bryan said it doesn’t matter the Bellas only got their opportunity because of they’re looks. Saying Natalya only got her opportunity because she’s a Hart. Bryan said he’s defensive about his wife. He said Bree and Nikki work hard. Bryan said everyone tries to make their name on Nikki Bella like the guys do John Cena. Renee said its been an interesting nigh and plugs next weeks Smackdown one last time. Santa burps and farts throughout. It’s time for Santa to give his gifts. Santa’s balance is a little off. “Big package for you Renee (wink wink) and small package for you Bryan …1-2- kick out.” Santa rubs his sweaty bare chest. Renee and Bryan open the boxes the boxes are empty. Santa said the box is full of Christmas joy and that the elves have unionized. Santa leaves Bryan and Renee in disgust as the show signs off the air.
