Smackdown Rating: Perspective on last week’s rating and how it fits into fall season’s trends, highs, lows (w/Keller’s Analysis)

Smackdown last week drew a 1.71 rating, down from the 1.78 the week before. The rating is right in line with the rolling ten-week average, excluding the Thanksgiving edition. The rating is below the November non-holiday average of 1.76, above the October average of 1.64, and below the September average of 1.75 and August average of 1.83.

Keller’s Analysis: The rating is also right in line with the fall average of 1.69. There was a jump after Thanksgiving to a 1.95, a surge from the 1.56 and 1.58 ratings the two weeks before thanksgiving. The range of ratings is great enough this season (1.56 non-holiday low to a 1.95 non-holiday high) that there are factors outside of WWE’s control and also within WWE’s control that can sway ratings, but they’re often blips that end up averaging out weeks later.
