Tonight on Smackdown, taped earlier in Glasgow, Scotland, an angle was filmed with Baron Corbin suffering a knee injury in his match. Later in the show, Smackdown G.M. Daniel Bryan asked Shane McMahon to join Team Smackdown. Shane agreed.
That means Shane will team with A.J. Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, and Randy Orton. They will face Team Raw consisting of Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Braun Strowman.
Keller’s Analysis: I’m not sure what this says about Smackdown’s depth chart that Bryan’s first thought once Corbin is eliminated is to have 47 year old non-wrestler son-of-the-chairman and his boss Shane as the “logical” replacement. This does put Shane in position to possibly get involved in whatever happens with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar as a way to set up the slated Brock Lesnar vs. Shane McMahon match at WrestleMania 33.

If this isn`t a smack in the face to Corbin and the rest of the Smackdown FULL TIME wrestlers that the bosses son gets a prime spot, this could have launched maybe Corbin, Apollo Creed. The Miz or maybe a former World Champion Jack Swagger but NO Shne McMahon gets the spot, Smackdown was the show u looked to that gave the wrestlers who weren`t really getting a push on RAW a oppotunity to show their selves but hey we have the bosses son AGAIN in The Main Event because once again Vince can`t seem to himself. Next thing you know AJ will be jobbing the WWE World strap to Ellsworth because Vince thinks he`s funny..just watch.
Remember before the brand split when Shane McMahon said it would be about creating future stars (he mentioned Corbin and Crews), and not about management getting too much time?
