Smackdown Tag Title Tournament – 7/8 teams named, First Round matches begin

WWE started a Tag Team tournament to determine the first-ever Smackdown tag champions.

The finals of the tournament will be held at the Backlash PPV on September 11.

On this week’s Smackdown, WWE named seven of eight tag team entrants and presented the first two matches of the tournament.

WWE GM Daniel Bryan will reveal the eighth team on next week’s Smackdown after Heath Slater found a tag partner, Rhyno, to be the seventh team in the tournament.
