WWE Raw TV Preview 8/1

WWE kicks off a new month and the Road to Summerslam Monday night in Atlanta.

Included is the WWE TV return of Brock Lesnar, who has not appeared in WWE since defeating Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32 in April.

Since then, Lesnar announced his return to UFC, won his UFC 200 return fight, and was flagged for two anti-doping violations after the fight.

Lesnar is returning to WWE TV ahead of a showdown with Randy Orton at Summerslam, which follows Orton appearing on two “WWE talk shows” to discuss the match and take digs at Lesnar.

Outside of Lesnar’s return, there is the matter of the newly-introduced WWE Universal Title. Seth Rollins and former NXT champion Finn Balor will meet for the title at Summerslam. Now, the official hype begins three weeks away from the PPV. Both Rollins and Balor are advertised for Raw.

Raw will also mark the first official week of Sasha Banks as new Women’s champion after defeating Charlotte last week on Raw.

Also advertised for Raw are Roman Reigns and Chris Jericho. Reigns needs an opponent for Summerslam after losing a #1 contender match to Balor last Monday on Raw.

Advertised from the Smackdown brand are WWE World Hvt. champion Dean Ambrose, John Cena, and A.J. Styles for a post-taping bonus main event.

The advertised bonus main event is Cena & Ambrose & Reigns vs. Rollins & Styles & Jericho in a six-man tag match.
