WWE reported their latest WWE Network subscriber count as part of the Second Quarter 2016 financial report released Thursday.
The total number of paid subscribers at the end of the quarter was 1.511 million.
This increased from 1.357 million at the end of the First Quarter (March 31) and 1.454 million immediately after WrestleMania 32 on April 4.
It translates to a net gain of four percent retaining subscribers from April 4 to June 30 when the quarter ended.
The concern remains domestic subscriptions, as WWE reported almost the exact same number one year later.
Immediately following WrestleMania 31 last year, WWE had 1.131 million domestic subs when Q1-2015 concluded. At the end of this year’s Second Quarter (a few months after WM32 based on the timing of Mania), WWE reported 1.130 million domestic subs.
The key difference is the international expansion. At the end of Q1-2015, WWE had 196,000 international subs. That figure doubled to 381,000 at the end of Q2-2016.
International now represents 25 percent of Network subs, up from 15 percent at the end of last year’s Mania quarter.
