SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
WWE Raw TV Preview 7/11
One week away from the brand split/Draft and two weeks away from the Battleground PPV, WWE returns to Detroit on Monday night for this week’s Raw.
Included is the return of Vince McMahon (Mr. McMahon) to Raw TV, as part of standing operating procedures for the past 20 years to get McMahon back on TV following a big TV ratings fall.
Detroit is also the city where Shane McMahon made his dramatic return to WWE earlier this year. Shane is advertised for Raw along with Stephanie McMahon as part of Vince evaluating their authority figure roles ahead of the Draft/split.
As part of the evaluation, WWE is teasing an update on who will be running Smackdown after weeks of trotting out former authority figures.
There are several other elements in-play for Monday’s Raw, including three matches announced. One new match is a #1 contender battle royal to The Miz’s Intercontinental Title.
Plus, follow-up on the WWE Title situation centered on Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins heading into Battleground (with Roman Reigns off TV suspended), and follow-up on A.J. Styles joining forces with Enzo Amore & Big Cass against A.J. Styles and The Club.
WWE is also teasing a video feature on WWE tag champions New Day visiting The Wyatt compound for a confrontation.
The full advertised roster includes Ambrose, Rollins, Cena, Styles, Kevin Owens, Sheamus, Shane, and Stephanie.
