SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Former WWE/WCW announcer and executive Jim Ross is producing a documentary on TBS’s historical Saturday night wrestling program.
What eventually became “WCW Saturday Night” is the subject of Ross’s “6:05: The Movie” project based on the timeslot for the long-running show.
Ross said the focus will be on the wrestling show helping launch numerous careers, including his own, on a national scale through the cable TV channel owned by Ted Turner.
Ross is seeking funding for the project through NWALegends.com.
“Looking for funding of any amount and suggestions on who you would like to hear speak on the topic,” Ross wrote at jrsbarbq.com. “Contractual issues will prevent us from talking to everyone on our wish list but we will do all we can to a litany of individuals who were connected to the iconic, long running broadcast many fans flocked to for years. We’ve already begun planning this labor of love and it gets more exciting every day.”
