Prior to the start of the Best of the Super Juniors tournament, New Japan released a short-form interview with international star Will Ospreay.

Ospreay signed a deal with New Japan this year to become a featured wrestler in the CHAOS faction and in the Jr. Hvt. division. He made a big splash challenging KUSHIDA for the IWGP Jr. Hvt. Title on his first NJPW show in April.

The mini-documentary on Ospreay followed him from the airport arriving in Japan for the first time to his hotel, where he unpacked and reflected on fulfilling a career dream wrestling in Japan.

Ospreay noted he’s only been a pro wrestler for four years and traveled all over the world, while many colleagues in England have been wrestling for a decade and never left the country.

Ospreay got emotional talking about representing the U.K. on a big platform because there is not a major promotion in the U.K., like WWE in the U.S. or NJPW in Japan.

Ospreay is expected to be a big player in New Japan this year, as evidenced by New Japan taking the time to release the documentary introducing Ospreay to the Japanese fanbase.
