SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
WWE star John Cena announced Monday that he will return to Raw in one month on the Memorial Day edition of Raw.
Memorial Day is May 30, one week after the Extreme Rules PPV on May 22.
The Memorial Day episode of Raw typically draws one of the lowest TV ratings of the year falling on a holiday and during the post-WrestleMania lull period. WWE will look to keep viewers with Raw for the second episode after a PPV.
Cena returned to WWE TV at WrestleMania on April 3 to help The Rock against The Wyatts. He was cleared for that brief physicality, but not a full-time return to the ring.
Cena said on Twitter that he cut down a nine-month recovery time (it was quoted as 6-9 months) to five months.
They said the surgery recovery time is 9 months, but I’m ready to go in 5. This #MemorialDay Cena is back on #Raw. #NeverGiveUp
