SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Finn Balor got his NXT Title re-match at Saturday night’s NXT house show in Poughkeepsie, New York.
The result was the same as Thursday with Samoa Joe leaving the show still NXT champion.
The match was advertised as Joe vs. Balor in a title re-match, but WWE added Austin Aries to make it a compelling three-way title match.
Joe pinned Aries to score the win, ending the tour as NXT champion after winning the title from Balor on Thursday.
Finn Balor then spoke to the live crowd after the show. Balor teased leaving for the main WWE roster, but also said he’s “staying in NXT,” creating the ultimate mixed signal on what his future is.
"When I stand behind that curtain Monday, there will be a piece of me that's missing" – @wwebalor #NXTPoughkeepsie
