SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
WWE’s website released a 60-second clip of Samoa Joe’s NXT Title victory over Finn Balor at Thursday night’s NXT house show in Lowell, Mass.
The footage shows Joe setting up an “injured” Balor for the Musclebuster, hitting his finisher, and scoring a three count in the middle of the ring.
WWE’s ringside camera operator panned the front row of fans who were a mix of stunned, shocked, and celebratory, while pulling out their phones to record the moment and themselves in the moment.
Back in the ring, Joe was shown receiving the NXT Title belt while Balor was checked on by the referee. Joe then clutched the title near his face to absorb the moment of winning NXT’s top prize. This concluded what was originally thought to be just another Thursday night live NXT show that turned out to be very eventful.
