(1) A.J. Styles beat Tyler Breeze. Breeze came out in typical fashion with his selfie stick and reclined on the corner turnbuckle while Styles came out to a big pop. Squash style match with A.J. as the aggressor. He won after connecting with a springboard flying forearm.
(2) Mark Henry beat The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) in a handicap match. The handicap match scenario was played mostly for laughs. Both members of The Ascension attempted to knock Henry down but he stood strong on each attempt. The match ended quickly with Henry scoring a slam and pinfall victory. Biggest pop was Henry giving a t-shirt to a special needs fan by ringside.
(3) Fandango & Darren Young & Damien Sandow beat Stardust & The Social Outcasts (Heath Slater & Adam Rose) in a six-man tag match. Lots of laugh moments in this match including the babyfaces all dancing, Stardust instructed the audience to not call him Cody and then hopped the barricade to argue with a fan. There were multiple spots with heels accidentally hitting each other. In the confusion of the bumbling heels Fandango, picked up the pinfall on Stardust.
Stardust left the ring angry and threw his glove at the Titantron as a promo of Sheamus and Barrett played teasing the main event tag match against Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose.
(4) Luke Harper beat Zack Ryder. Very slow and deliberate pace in this match. Lots of mind games and taunting by Harper. The audience got bored and began booing eight minutes in, so the pace quickened. Biggest pop was Harper catching Ryder mid-air into a sit-down powerbomb and nearfall. The match ended with Harper winning after a discus clothesline.
(5) WWE tag champions New Day (Big E. & Xavier Woods) beat The Dudleys and The Usos in a three-team match to retain the WWE Tag Titles. Bubba Ray cut a promo on the audience talking about how he and D-Von are from Brooklyn, which means they’re from New York and that everyone in Buffalo was from Canada. Chants of “Brooklyn sucks” persisted throughout the match. Only two legal men at a time led to a lot of blind tags and interesting pairings during the match. The biggest pops were for a bit where Xavier got chopped in the back by every man in the match (including Big E.), then teasing leaving the arena, as well as Xavier being slingshot head-first into Bubba Ray’s crotch. Mayhem broke out and Xavier got the pin on Jey Uso after the Dudleys hit a 3D on Jey.
[Intermission]
(6) Divas champion Charlotte beat Natalya to retain the Divas Title. Big pop for Natalya, as she is the closest to a hometown hero in the absence of Beth Phoenix. Natalya grabbed a sign from a fan (possibly a plant) to show off in ring, which Charlotte ripped up for major heat. Natalya looked great and played to the crowd, but Charlotte seemed sloppy, as if she forgot the spots they planned out. Big pops for both the Figure-Four (no bride to the Figure-Eight attempted) and the Sharpshooter. Charlotte went over after a dirty pin attempt (she tried to put her feet on the ropes, but missed on the attempt and only got a foot on at the three count.)
(7) Chris Jericho beat Jack Swagger. Y2J came out and cut a heavy promo on Buffalo being an awful city, calling out a fan for having an A.J. Styles sign, and reminding us that he is the best at what he does. Good paced match with lots of entertaining spots. Jericho picked up the pinfall after a Codebreaker.
Post-match, Jericho locked in the Walls of Jericho on Swagger. A.J. Styles ran out to break the hold and brawled with Y2J. Jericho quickly ran for higher ground before much of a confrontation could ensue.
(8) Dean Ambrose & Roman Regisn beat The League of Nations (Sheamus & King Barrett) in the main event. Very positive crowd reaction to Roman Reigns. Tight and fast paced match; the only lulls were a few bits of pulling Sheamus’s hair and him complaining on mic about his “beautiful mohawk.” The match ended with Roman getting the Superman Punch on Barrett and a spear to Sheamus for the win.
