ROH PPV News & Notes 2/26
– Jay Lethal retained the ROH World Title in a three-way match against Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, who had an impressive showing. Lethal hit a double Lethal Injection on his opponents, then pinned Cole for the win.
– New Japan star Tomohiro Ishii retained the ROH TV Title over former TV champion Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish in a three-way match. The match was originally Strong vs. Fish for the title, but Ishii won the title from Strong last Friday in Japan.
– War Machine (Ray Rowe & Hanson) retained the ROH Tag Titles over All Night Express (Kenny King & Rhett Titus) in a No DQ tag match.
– From New Japan’s tag title division, Kenny Omega & the Young Bucks of the Bullet Club retained the NEVER Openweight Six-man Tag Titles against A.C.H., Matt Sydal, and IWGP Jr. Hvt. champion KUSHIDA.
– Earlier in the show, the Motor City Machineguns re-united. Alex Shelley beat Christopher Daniels with help from Chris Sabin, then Shelley and Sabin reunited.
– “Spanky” Brian Kendrick made a guest appearance on commentary during Shelley’s match against Christopher Daniels.
– New Japan’s roster pulled off a clean sweep against ROH’s roster. IWGP World Hvt. champion Kazuchika Okada beat Moose, Hirooki Goto beat Dalton Castle, Tanahashi & Michael Elgin beat The Briscoes, and Ishii beat Strong and Fish for the TV Title.
– ROH’s next traditional cable PPV is “Global Wars” in May featuring ROH vs. New Japan stars. ROH’s next big show is “Supercard of Honor” on April 1 in Dallas.
