SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...

Current and former colleagues continue to pour out thoughts and support for Daniel Bryan following his retirement speech Monday night on Raw.

Samoa Joe posted a thoughtful essay reflecting on his relationship with Bryan as two of the top independent wrestlers of a generation. Now, Bryan is exiting WWE and Joe is on top of WWE’s NXT brand.

– Monday night into Tuesday, ESPN ran an item on their trademark “Bottomline” news scroll noting Bryan’s retirement. They also pushed Bryan’s SportsCenter interview Tuesday night on ESPNews.

– E! published reflections from Bryan’s wife, “Total Divas” star Brie Bella, about beginning a new journey with Bryan at EOnline.com.

Jim Ross blogged on Bryan’s decision to retire, which Ross says WWE management was informed of after they arrived in Seattle for Raw. Ross wrote about Bryan’s tough decision to end his pursuit to wrestle again in favor of his future health.

“Although it is a sad day for Bryan and his fans with him not being able to safely wrestle in the future, I’d say that the ‘YES!! Man’ came out of this ordeal a very lucky man,” Ross wrote at jrsbarbq.com.

Ross followed with a column Tuesday morning on FoxSports.com reflecting on Bryan’s journey. “If my instincts are accurate, we haven’t heard the last of Bryan Danielson. His future contributions to the business that he loves so passionately should be prominent for all to see for years to come,” Ross wrote.

“Bryan is WWE’s version of Peyton Manning in that the former WWE Champion can influence an entire team with his attitude and leadership.  No company in any form of business can have too many Daniel Bryans on the payroll.”

– WWNLive released a free match of Bryan (as Bryan Danielson) vs. Dean Ambrose (as Jon Moxley) from 2010. This was Bryan’s last match on the independents before returning to WWE.

WWNLive head booker Gabe Sapolsky also published a letter to Bryan through Paul Heyman’s “Heyman Hustle” website HERE.

WWE’s website released a series of video clips from Bryan’s retirement segment on Raw.
