WWE Smackdown SPOILERS 1/14
Renee Young was outside the arena to talk to Dean Ambrose, who entered the arena in a truck. Ambrose talked about his feud with Kevin Owens and then walked to the ring to challenge Kevin Owens to a Last Man Standing Match at the Royal Rumble. Sheamus came out to talk and then Owens came out and they both beat down Ambrose before Neville made the save to hype up the main event.
(1) The Dudleys beat The Wyatts in a tables match. The finish came when Bubba pushed Luke Harper through a table outside the ring. It came off as a weak finish. After the match, the Wyatts put both Dudleys through tables.
(2) The Social Outcasts (Adam Rose & Heath Slater & Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas) beat Zack Ryder & Jack Swagger & Goldust & Damien Sandow in an eight-man tag match. Dallas hit the running Bo-Dog for the win. It was a pleasant surprise to see Sandow revert back to old gimmick.
(3) Alberto Del Rio beat U.S. champion Kalisto to regain the U.S. Title one night after losing it to Kalisto on Raw. Del Rio won with the cross arm-breaker. Match of the night. Almost a carbon copy of the previous night’s match, but it still captivated the fans.
(4) Becky Lynch beat Brie Bella with the Dis-arm-her. Really quick match.
Main Event time.
(5) IC champion Dean Ambrose & Neville vs. Kevin Owens & Sheamus was thrown out. There was no real announcement. Good match and Neville hit Red Arrow on Owens after Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds to send the crowd home happy. Seeing the Red Arrow live is a cool thing to see.
No dark match after the show. Eden Stiles just said to drive safe. There was no announcement on a future show at the Cajundome.
The crowd seemed disappointed by no Roman Reigns or New Day, but the crew that was in Lafayette put on a good show nonetheless. And the crowd was fairly mild, throughout. I gotta give credit to Rick “The Sign Guy” for helping get the crowd into it throughout. I talked to him afterward and he’s a nice guy.
The biggest pop went to Kalisto. He is the next Rey Mysterio and has the fans eating out of the palm of his hand.
The biggest heat was on Sheamus. Sadly, it wasn’t nuclear, just lukewarm heat.
