1/7 Smackdown Ratings – UPDATED with DVR viewing

The first weekly edition of WWE Smackdown on USA Network fared well in the Thursday night timeslot, nearly scoring a 2.0 rating.

January 7: Smackdown scored a 1.93 rating, the highest since the week after WrestleMania in April 2015 when Smackdown was on Syfy.

By comparison, the “Super Smackdown” live special on USA two weeks ago drew a 1.53 rating on a Tuesday night (December 22).

– Smackdown drew 2.757 million viewers, also the most since April 2015. By comparison, the Super Smackdown show drew 2.264 million viewers.

DVR Update: Smackdown added 196,000 DVR viewers to bring total viewership to 2.953 million viewers.

– In the key demographics, Smackdown shot up to a 1.01 in males 18-49, the highest rating in the demo in a long time on Syfy. It topped a 0.92 rating for the Super Smackdown special on USA.

DVR Update: Males 18-49 was also a big gainer among DVR viewers – Smackdown increased to a 1.12 rating in the m18-49 demo.

Males 18-34 also increased t0 a o.96 rating vs. 0.84 for Super Smackdown and adults 18-49 scored a 0.85 rating vs. 0.70 for Super Smackdown.
