SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Monday’s Raw in Minneapolis came and went without any type of WrestleMania-related teaser or announcement.
Former WWE announcer Jim Ross says there’s an explanation.
“Apparently, Minneapolis is no longer in the hunt for the 2017 WrestleMania as was once rumored. That has yet to be confirmed but that’s what I’m hearing,” Ross wrote in his latest blog at jrsbarbq.com.
The Minnesota Vikings’s new NFL home, U.S. Bank Stadium, is scheduled to host the Super Bowl in 2018. The thought process is it would have given WWE a chance to beat the NFL to the new stadium in 2017, similar to WWE beating the Super Bowl to the new Levi’s Stadium in Northern California earlier this year.
WrestleMania Schedule
2016 – WM32 in Dallas/Arlington, Tex.
2017 – WM33 ???
