Independents Notebook
– ROH star Moose says he is interested in signing with WWE when his Ring of Honor contract expires. Moose (Quinn Ojinnaka) talked to the Atlanta Falcons website about his transition from the NFL to pro wrestling, including his ultimate goal.
“I want to win the Ring of Honor Title; long-term, I’d like to sign with WWE,” he said. “I’m happy where I’m at. When my contract with Ring of Honor is up, we’ll see. Do I want to work for WWE someday? Yes I do. But right now, I’m still young. I’m 31 years old. So I don’t think there’s any rush. Whatever happens happens.”
– Independent wrestler Drew Gulak is not commenting on whether he has signed a WWE Developmental deal. “I am not allowed to speak on that issue. If I was allowed to I would be in great detail. But I can’t really elaborate on any business with WWE or if there has been any business with WWE,” Gulak said on the “Two Man Power of Wrestling” podcast.
Gulak was playing coy in the interview, as PWTorch has learned that Gulak did not receive an offer following his try-out.
– Independent wrestler Peter Kaasa has signed with WWNLive. The news was first reported by PWInsider and independent confirmed by PWTorch columnist Sean Radican. Kaasa wrestled undercard matches on the most-recent EVOLVE tour, and is looking to move up now that he’s signed a deal.
– WWNLive head booker Gabe Sapolsky offered some “free advice” to prospective wrestlers on Twitter. “Tweeting at a booker is NOT A GOOD WAY TO GET BOOKED. This is not how business is done. Also, if you go this route, you really look bad if you tweet at a promoter and then no one else cares enough about you to tweet their support, or retweet. My point being, you better have some substantial support if you intend to go this route & I still wouldn’t recommend it.”
