SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
The gain from last week’s Smackdown episode was erased this week, as Thursday’s Smackdown fell more than one-tenth of a rating. The show narrowly avoided being the lowest-rated of the season.
WWE Smackdown TV Ratings 2015
— October 29: Thursday’s show scored a 1.50 rating, down from a season-high 1.62 rating last week.
The previous season low was a 1.49 rating on September 17.
Smackdown drew 2.171 million viewers, only slightly down from 2.204 million viewers last week.
– In the key demographics, Smackdown was hit hard among younger viewers – males 18-34 fell one-tenth of a rating to a one-month low. Adults & males 18-49 were steady, though.
– Overall on Thursday nights this year, Smackdown has averaged a 1.74 rating and 2.419 million viewers.
The 2015 average remains well below the same period last year on Friday nights – 1.90 rating and 2.669 million viewers.
I think they should really consider either axing Smackdown entirely or making it like WCW Saturday Night, with recaps, occasional stars showing up and lesser guys having matches.
(just please don’t feed anyone else to Cena, via an ‘open challenge’…)
