It's easy to speculate about what matches will top the Wrestlemania card in 2013. It's more difficult to look into the crystal ball to see where WWE might go with the other matches. So with WWE recently making a number of moves in the mid-card, let's see how things may shake out for Wrestlemania. After the Royal Rumble, once plans are more solidified, I'll take a longer, more in-depth look at a possible Wrestlemania card from top to bottom.

As for now, Rey Mysterio vs. Sin Cara was a match that was seemingly penciled-in for Mania. Cara's recent knee surgery may endanger that match. Even if the match were to occur, would both men go into the match as babyfaces? How would the crowd respond to that? They've been in the tag team division recently, so would there be a break-up storyline to go along with their match, or would they develop a friendly rivalry that would culminate in a Mania match? It may be difficult to put Cara in any kind of match with a back-story when he can't cut a promo in English. As for stipulations, it could be a mask vs. mask match, though I wouldn't anticipate either man losing his mask. It could be a retirement, passing-of-the-torch match for Mysterio, but I don't think WWE thinks highly enough of Cara at this time to make a grand gesture like that for him.

Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes could be featured in a tag-team match. I like the long-term potential of these two as a team. With the way WWE creates tag teams, their opponents may not even be together as a team at this point. Will Team Hell No still have any steam by Wrestlemania time? Or will the tag team division be relegated to a multi-team match to get as many people on the card as possible? Team Hell No got hot out of nowhere, and that could happen to two other wrestlers in the next few months.

Alberto Del Rio and The Miz are two wrestlers who have recently turned babyface. It's hard to see where they'd factor in so early in their face runs. Miz has been a bomb as a babyface and hasn't established a feud yet. He could see singles action against a secondary champion such as Wade Barrett or Antonio Cesaro. Del Rio could be in a similar position. It'll be interesting to see what, if any, tweaks are made to the Del Rio character now that he's a babyface.

Speaking of Barrett and Cesaro, both are possible future headliners in WWE. They've been used in secondary title feuds lately, but if WWE gets behind one of them and gives them a push similar to that of Sheamus last year, maybe a surprise Royal Rumble win, that could put them in a position to be a factor in a title match at Wrestlemania.

Could the Shield be in for a six-man tag match? I don't expect WWE to break them up by Wrestlemania, so each man participating in a separate singles match is unlikely. Will The Shield still be in the main-event discussion, or could they possibly be mid-card fodder for three stray babyfaces, which could include Kofi Kingston (if he's not still IC Champ at that point), Miz, Del Rio, and/or others. If they're still main eventing, it could be difficult to find a six-man match with three other babyface main eventers, since there are so few.

There are many others who are worthy of mid-card matches at Wrestlemania, including those currently on the shelf, like Mark Henry and Christian. How WWE finds a spot for these men, and who they deem worthy of a Wrestlemania match, will be an interesting discussion in itself.
