Well, WWE has done it. Through their weekly three-hour Raws, they've finally done something it feels like they've been trying to do for years: They've burned me out on long matches, specifically, three-star matches.

I know, three-star matches are supposed to be above-average, enjoyable contests. In Raw's three-hour era, we get two or sometimes three per show. We should be grateful!

But to slog through the rest of the show, it takes the patience of Job (or at least Caldwell). These three-star matches have become something you fast-forward through to get to the rest of the stuff you fast-forward through. It used to be that having a three-star match was good enough; now, they don't feel special.

Part of the problem is that these matches have no consequence or are thrown out with no hype or background; if WWE isn't going to bother to give me a reason for this match happening, why should I care? Another part of the problem is that it's the same wrestlers fighting against each other every week. To go along with that, so many of the matches feel the same; thanks to WWE's "style," you can plug pretty much anyone in there and they'll all have the exact same match. They'll cut to break with someone on the outside, they'll come back with someone working out of a rest-hold, and finishes will be countered. And with so many hours of TV, with few exceptions, everyone on the roster is overexposed.

The matches are still good, technically sound, even occasionally with a good story, hence the three stars. But when Raw burn-out sets in during that second or third hour, three-star matches just aren't enough to hold fan interest. And it saddens me to say that.
