In a word: Many certified autographs from this year’s WrestleMania stars can be found for around $25.

Last week’s PWTorch Collectibles Column on building a WWE Hall of Fame Autograph Collection generated quite a bit of discussion and several comments from readers. (Read HERE.)

As noted in that article, there are 59 WWE Hall of Famers whose signatures are relatively easy to obtain thanks to certified autographed trading cards from companies like Topps, Leaf, TRISTAR, Upper Deck, and Fleer. A couple readers were surprised that the median sale price for autographs from those 59 Hall of Famers was just $10 - meaning half were above $10 and half were below. Building an autograph collection of those 59 WWE Hall of Famers would cost a minimum of $1,001.

So, what would it take to build a collection of certified autographed trading cards of the wrestlers involved in WrestleMania 31?

Judging by completed eBay sales over the last 90 days, a collection of certified autographed trading cards from the 21 wrestlers in the top matches (excluding the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and some sort of multi-team tag match) would run a minimum of $890.91.

The average sale price of these 21 WrestleMania signatures is $42.42, while the median is $25.99. The median sale price is a much more accurate indicator in this case, as it helps offset the much more expensive autographs of Triple H ($222.22) and The Undertaker ($144.00) and the cheapest autograph of Cody Rhodes ($7.06). Just about half (11) of these autographs fall in the $20-29.99 range.

The high price of Triple H and Undertaker autographs is due to scarcity. Triple H has only ever signed for one set, while Undertaker has only ever signed for two - and one of those was back in 1994. Their autographs aren’t super tough to find, but you probably won’t find one at a much lower price than those recent sale prices anytime soon.

Aside from Triple H and Undertaker, the next top five most expensive autographs on this list are Paige ($65), Dean Ambrose ($45), A.J. Lee ($42), Roman Reigns ($36), and Luke Harper ($30). Three of those five have only signed for one set each: Paige (2015 Topps WWE), Ambrose (2013 Topps Best of WWE), and Harper (2014 Topps WWE).

Reigns’s signature can be found in 2013 Topps Best of WWE, 2014 Topps Chrome, and 2014 Topps Road to WrestleMania, which is the cheapest of the three. A.J. Lee has signed for several different sets, yet her signature continues to consistently outsell almost all others since 2011. Her most affordable autograph can be found in 2015 Topps WWE.

Randy Orton, R-Truth, Bray Wyatt, Brie Bella, Nikki Bella, Brock Lesnar, Bad News Barrett, Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Seth Rollins, and Sting all fall within the $20-29.99 range, although some are tougher to find for that price than others. Most of Sting’s autographs are considerably higher, but his basic autograph from 2014 Leaf Best of Wrestling can often be found for less than $30. Brock Lesnar’s UFC autographs usually sell for over $50, but his signature from Press Pass Fusion, a 2009 multi-sport set, recently sold for $24.99 and can usually be found for about that amount.

Only three of the 21 wrestlers on this list have certified autographs that can easily be found for less than $20: Dolph Ziggler ($17.39), Rusev ($15.65), and Cody Rhodes ($7.06). If Cody signs as “Stardust” for a future Topps set, that card could be worth a little more.
