The surprising retirement of Edge last year led to increased prices for his action figures and collectibles. With the “Rated R Superstar” headlining the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2012, even more collectors are expressing interest in Edge.

Edge, like many others who rose to prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s, has an extremely large number of figures. Mattel produced the first Edge toy in late 1998 and kept making them through 2009. Since acquiring the WWE license in 2010, Mattel has also produced several Edge figures.

One of Edge’s coolest figures was released in 2009 as a Toyfare magazine exclusive, limited to just 3,000 pieces. Edge is featured wearing blue tights, and comes with a removable black trench coat. One of the real draws to this figure is the Rated R Superstar belt. In fact, this was the only time Jakks ever made this toy belt.

Since this figure was released nearly three years ago, the supply has pretty much dried up. Only two are being offered on eBay, with the sellers asking a whopping $179.99 to $199.99. Only one sold within the last month, for a more reasonable $55. Sites like Ringside Collectibles and Amazon don’t have any for sale either.

If you’re looking for a cheap figure of Edge, you can find one pretty easily. But if you’re looking for a more valuable collectible, this one is about as good as it gets.

Sloppy signature

Congratulations to Jason Alejo, James Ponce, and Dai Yut, who correctly identified last Thursday’s sloppy signature as that of Mick Foley.
