WWE SMACKDOWN PRIMER
SEPTEMBER 12, 2017
LAS VEGAS, NEV. AT THOMAS AND MACK CENTER

“RETURN OF THE MAC”
Prepare your little hearts. Tonight, the man with the biggest strut in the business will be making his return as WWE ventures deep into the center of Sin City. That man of course is the Big Mac, the greater power, Vincent Kennedy McMahon. His purpose? To have a word with one Kevin Owens about laying his hands on WWE higher-ups, in particular his son Shane McMahon.
K.O. and Shane haven’t been on the same page ever since Owens became a member of the Tuesday night roster and the animosity finally boiled over. Last week they traded fists, which resulted in General Manager Daniel Bryan placing Shane under temporary suspension. Vince may be getting up there in age, but he still knows how to deliver the goods on the microphone, and Owens is easily one of the best talkers in the business. (LET’S GET IT ON.)
All paths will lead to an eventual showdown between Shane’O’Mac and K.O. at Hell in a Cell and Vince McMahon is just the type of gasoline this feud needs to turn into a full-fledged barn fire.
“DEFEND THE BELT”
There will also be some great in-ring action coming from the home of the UNLV Running Rebels tonight! (VEGAS NATIVE BABY!)
-Natalya and Naomi will meet again for the Smackdown Women’s Championship after the Queen of Harts shocked everyone with a decisive victory at Summerslam. Naomi cleverly bided her time before cashing in on her rematch clause, and even scouted a couple of performances from Natty to better prepare for their next clash. However, the real concern for both women is the Money in the Bank briefcase holder Carmella. The Princess of Staten Island is hungry to cash-in, and what better place to do said cashing than Viva Rock Vegas baby. Also keep an eye out for James Ellsworth, whose loyalty to Mella has never been stronger.
-The second title match will be the Phenomenal A.J. Styles putting his United States Championship on the line against the Perfect Ten Tye Dillinger. This will be Tye’s second shot at the U.S. in as many weeks after his first attempt fell flat thanks in no part to Baron Corbin. The Lone Wolf defeated Dillinger last SD, and knowing him, may try to stick his nose in again. Styles was so impressed with Tye’s efforts that he granted him another friendly opportunity. This should be good.
-Title match three, and of course the potential show-stealer. Those Superkicking Samoan Usos will defend their newly acquired tag team championships against the who… WHO… WHOOOOO… New Day. The bad blood between these teams has grown to uncomfortable levels but the high match quality they deliver has kept the wrestling universe invested, and to add more intrigue, this will be a street fight. That means no DQ, weapons can be used, low-blows can be hit, and no matter what, a winner must emerge.
“AS FOR THE REST OF THE BLUE BRAND”
-The women of Smackdown should be counting their blessings that Asuka is now going to Raw.
-Bobby Roode is still Glorious, and still on a win streak. He was absent last week so hopefully he will grace us with his presence tonight.
-He’s not the only one: Aiden English has defeated Sami Zayn on multiple occasions, which begs the question: WHAT EVEN IS PRO WRESTLING ANYMORE?
-Two tag teams that will hopefully be propelled into the next title feud are Breezango and the newly formed Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin. Tyler Breeze and Fandango are still on the lookout for the perpetrators who trashed their office while Gable and Shelton are just looking to make it on television this week.
-Dolph Ziggler did something to the effect of mocking entrances, which means he’s probably going to be feuding with the man who has the current greatest entrance in the business…the aforementioned Robert Roode.
-205 Live has hyped a big showdown between T.J. Perkins and Rich Swann. If you haven’t been keeping up, just know that this will be probably the 1000th time (I’m exaggerating, but am I?) that we’ve seen that matchup.
-The Mae Young Classic final airs right after Smackdown! It will be interesting to see exactly how this plays out. Kairi Sane has been a crowd favorite ever since the tournament began and Shayna Baszler has wowed with her impressive feats of strength and her unique ways to capture her opponents in her rear-naked choke finisher. With a planned Rousey Crew versus Horsewomen on the horizon, how will this thing end? GUESS… YOU’LL… JUST… HAVE… TO… WAIT… AND… SEE.
You in?
