ROH TV Taping Report
June 25, 2016
Concord, N.C.
The night after Ring of Honor’s “Best in the World” PPV, ROH taped the next the set of TV episodes for their weekly show.
Included was a big angle centered on ROH World champion Jay Lethal.
Lethal retained the ROH Title over Kyle O’Reilly to continue his year-long run as ROH champion.
After the match, Bullet Club members Adam Cole and the Young Bucks attacked Lethal and shaved his head.
This follows up on Bullet Club taking out Lethal and Colt Cabana during their ROH Title match at the “Global Wars” PPV in May. It likely sets up Cole as the next title challenger to Lethal, although Lethal faces Colt Cabana again for the title on July 16 in Philadelphia.
– Also at the TV taping, Roderick Strong was given a farewell to end his ROH run.
Included was former WWE star Dave Bautista tweeting at Strong that “sometimes you gotta move on to move up.”
To commemorate the event, Strong, the Bucks, and Adam Cole posed backstage, representing the “Mt. Rushmore 2.0” stable in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.
