SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Roman Reigns, who was WWE World Hvt. champion as of Sunday, has been suspended for a Wellness Policy violation.
WWE announced Tuesday afternoon that Reigns has been suspended 30 days effective immediately (June 21).
Reigns wrestled a #1 contender’s match Monday night on Raw, setting up Reigns’s inclusion in a WWE Title match at the Battleground PPV on July 24.
Reigns will presumably remain in the title match since the PPV is more than 30 days after the suspension date.
WWE did not disclose when the Wellness Policy violation was known. PWTorch has now learned that WWE did know about the suspension before the PPV, prompting the decision to have Reigns drop the WWE Title to Seth Rollins, who then lost it to Dean Ambrose.
A big question is how WWE handles Reigns’s inclusion in The Draft taking place within the 30-day window on Tuesday, July 19. (Read More: Top 5 Questions on the Suspension)
Reigns acknowledged his suspension on Twitter, saying that he made a mistake and he owns the suspension.
“I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy. No excuses. I own it,” Reigns tweeted.

Wow. Pretty shocking. Now it makes sense why Dean Ambrose is now champion.
Complete BS that he is going to get to stay in a PPV main event after failing wellness. It will be even more ridiculous if they put him over for the belt again. Frankly the way WWE enforces the Wellness Policy offenses towards some and not others is a HUGE black mark on their program and supposed punishment based deterrent.
