SPOTLIGHTED PODCAST ALERT (YOUR ARTICLE BEGINS A FEW INCHES DOWN)...
Nearly two years after getting involved in WWE, German goalkeeper Tim Wiese has reported to WWE’s Performance Center to see if pro wrestling is his next career step.
WWE announced Tuesday that Wiese accepted a “personal invitation” from Triple H to join the P.C. in Orlando for an “extended training period.”
“Tim is tenacious,” said Hunter. “He continues to be very vocal in his desire to prove that he has what it takes, and he has shown tremendous resilience and determination to create an opportunity for himself. This is his break to walk his talk. If all goes well in Florida, he will get his chance in the ring.”
“I have been training hard for this, and I am excited for the opportunity,” Wiese said. “No matter what it takes, my goal is to be in that WWE ring this November. I want that match!”
In November 2014, Wiese made international headlines talking about his desire to switch from football to pro wrestling. He made a special appearance at a WWE show in Frankfurt, Germany in November 2014 to accentuate the point.
