The top news was Tanahashi, Michael Elgin, and Yoshitatsu making their first NEVER Openweight Six-man Tag Title defense against Bullet Club. The trio moves on to a title defense against The Elite members of Bullet Club, Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, at Wrestling Dontaku on May 3.

(1) Nakanashi & Tiger Mask IV & Ryusuke Taguchi beat Gedo & IWGP Jr. Hvt. tag champions RPG Vice (Rocky Romero & Trent Baretta) in a six-man tag match.

(2) Honma & Togi Makabe beat Jay White & David Finlay.

(3) IWGP World tag champions Tama Tonga & Tanga Loa beat Captain New Japan & Juice Robinson in a non-title match.

(4) Jushin Liger & Yuji Nagata beat NEVER Openweight champion Shibata & IWGP Jr. Hvt. champion KUSHIDA to set up the individual title matches at Wrestling Dontaku.

(5) NEVER Openweight six-man tag champions Tanahashi & Michael Elgin & Yoshitatsu beat Bullet Club (IWGP IC champion Kenny Omega & Bad Luck Fale & Yujiro Takahashi) to retain the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Titles. Elgin scored the fall on Yujiro with the Elginbomb.

(6) Los Ingobernables (IWGP World Hvt. champion Naito & Sanada & EVIL & BUSHI) beat CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Tomohiro Ishii & Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) in a Survivor Series-style over-the-top-rope elimination gauntlet match.

Notably, Naito was the first man eliminated by Ishii ahead of their IWGP Title match at Wrestling Dontaku. Sanada won the match for his team by eliminating Hashi. Bushi had a good showing, eliminating Okada and Goto. Naito’s faction closed the show standing tall over Okada, while Naito and Ishii brawled to the back.
