– Shane McMahon ran Raw for the third consecutive week. Shane was not advertised for next week’s final Raw before the Payback PPV, but the implication was he will be part of the show again.
– WWE began teasing an alliance between A.J. Styles and Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows, playing off their pre-WWE Bullet Club affiliation. Anderson & Gallows met up with Styles in a backstage interview, then attacked WWE World Hvt. champion Roman Reigns after a Styles-Reigns promo exchange. Styles acted like he wasn’t pleased with the attack on Reigns before their WWE Title match at Payback. Reigns responded via Twitter late Monday night/early Tuesday.

– The Wyatts were M.I.A. one week after being the focal point of the show with Roman Reigns. Bray Wyatt was injured on the European Tour and the Wyatt henchmen disappeared along with him on this week’s Raw.
– Raw closed with Dean Ambrose beating Kevin Owens in a singles match, then Chris Jericho attacked Ambrose and stood over him to close the show. Ambrose and Jericho meet in a singles match at Payback.
– Enzo Amore & Big Cass and The Vaudevillains advanced to the finals of the #1 contender Tag Tournament taking palce at Payback.
– Bret Hart was announced for the Payback PPV in Natalya’s corner against Women’s champion Charlotte (with Ric Flair).
– Natalya was announced for this week’s ESPNews SportsCenter segment.
– Announced for this week’s Smackdown is A.J. Styles on Miz TV with IC champion The Miz and Maryse.
This follows Cesaro appearing on Miz TV on Raw to set up their IC Title match at Payback. Cesaro then brought out WWE tag champions New Day to face Miz and The League of Nations in an eight-man tag match.
