WWE Tough Enough TV Report
July 21, 2015
Week 5 on USA Network
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Live from the Tough Enough studio at Full Sail University, Chris Jericho and Renee Young introduced this week's show. Introductions for judges Daniel Bryan, Hulk Hogan, and Paige. And, Bryan plugged his new book out today.

Jericho then introduced Big Show as a live studio guest. Show was dressed to wrestle acting like the jolly green giant. Show noted he's dressed for some business, so he might have some fun with the male Tough Enough stars.

Jericho sent to video from last week when the TE contestants recouped from last week's elimination. The females noted there are only four of them left - Amanda and Giorgia vs. Sara and Chelsea. Patrick then asked Sara what it's like being in the Bottom Three every week, acting cocky, according to Mada.

Later, Z.Z. was shown talking to Patrick about getting too arrogant. He told him to scale back. Patrick defended himself that if someone challenges him, he's going to step up.

Off to a challenge in Winter Garden, Fla. Booker T, Billy Gunn, and Lita introduced this week's challenge having to go through an obstacle course with all sorts of things. Gunn then welcomed out local police and Natalya to serve as judges for the course.

The contestants had to race against reps for the police officers. And off went Tanner taking off "like a jack rabbit," according to Patrick. Tanner took off past the males while Sara Lee took the lead for the females. But, she reached ropes and everyone got stuck. Giorgia finally reached the top of the ropes and finished the race to join Tanner. Everyone else was still struggling, then Sara finally reached the top and finished the race.

Mada regrouped and finally finished while Josh brought up the rear. Josh finished, and Patrick was the last male to finish. Well, except for Z.Z., who was still at the beginning of the course. Poor guy. Meanwhile, Amanda was stuck on the course, too, with Chelsea. Amanda said she felt defeated, so Giorgia helped her out. Sara tried to help Chelsea to reinforce the two female teams opposite each other. Chelsea reached the top, but fell down and sold an ankle injury. Gunn said they're done for the day.

Back at the studio, everyone was talking over each other. Show hung out next to the judges looking gigantic with his arms folded while the judges offered random commentary about the opening segment heading to break.

[Commercial Break]

Back on the show, they revisited Chelsea's injury on the obstacle course. As she was helped, Gunn shouted out to Tanner and Giorgia for winning the course. Natalya said this course taught them about humility, which is part of being part of WWE. She said it takes being humble and grateful to everyone. Lita called out Patrick, telling him to keep his ego in check.

The footage went over to Chelsea, who was taken to a local medical facility. Tanner took her to the doctor to evaluate the X-Rays. The ankle was not broken, but sprained. And she needs to be off her foot for a month to let it heal.

Back to the house where Amanda and Giorgia dogged Sara Lee. Yeesh. Tanner then dragged Chelsea back into the house to help her recover. Off to Josh on the phone with his daughter. She had a matching hair bun.

Sara then entered Chelsea's room to check on her. Chelsea teared up talking about basically being screwed because she can't do anything physically for a month. She said she just got back on the show, so she can't give up now.

Off to the males. Z.Z. was asked why he's pouting right now. Tanner told him he's not progressing by sulking. Mada said they all need to work on different things. Patrick got down to the question of whether Z.Z. wants to be here. Patrick raised his voice telling Z.Z. to wake up and show some physicality. He told Z.Z. to go back to comedy tours in Louisiana if he just wants to be a comedian. Z.Z. stayed down after being chewed out by Patrick, who said it would be a joke if he loses this competition to Z.Z.

Back to the judges, where they discussed Z.Z. not improving physically, Patrick developing an ego, and Giorgia stirring the pot. And, Show kept standing there looking tough.

[Commercial Break]

Tough Enough returned with more footage from during the week. Amanda showed everyone her scars and rope burns. Sara gave up Chelsea's secret that she's supposed to be off her feet for a month, but they have to compete in the ring today.

Off to the ring to meet the trainers. And, Giorgia played tattletale saying Sara told her that Chelsea cannot do anything physically for a month. In perhaps the worst, most-contrived moment through five weeks, Giorgia told a sob story about feeling so bad for Chelsea not being able to compete anymore after working so hard. Just eye-rolling acting. As Chelsea cried, Gunn asked Chelsea what she's going to do today. Chelsea decided to sit and watch.

To the ring for some wrestling moves and sequences. Booker told Tanner to give him some showmanship. The show went through clips of the contestants going through sequences. Gunn put over Mada topping Patrick in the showmanship department. Patrick had to do 50 squats while saying "I'm bowing down to my king" each time. Sara Lee lost to Amanda and Giorgia, so she had to tell them they own her. Z.Z. lost his challenge and had to put over Tanner and Josh.

Booker addressed the contestants, saying Mada has improved the most. Giorgia, who has suddenly turned weird, talked up her improvement in a talking head after Lita endorsed her.

[Commercial Break]

Back at the Tough Enough house, Sara confronted Giorgia for calling her out in the ring. Giorgia played innocent, then Sara asked who she is while Amanda stepped up to defend Giorgia. Sara had enough of them and called them out, losing her mind in the process while Josh smiled in the background while holding a poolstick.

Back at Tough Enough, Big Show's hand dwarfed Chris Jericho's hand. Show lined up the male contestants to inform them what their live challenge is. Show said he's going to give them the signature chop. The male contestants removed their shirts to warm up for Show's chop. Z.Z. left his tanktop on to absorb the pain.

First up, Show lined up Josh in the corner to rough him up with a chop to the chest. Show then brought over Patrick to teach him humility after telling him he's going to have to do a lot of crap in WWE, so get used to it. Tanner was next with a small target for Show. Show leaned him back and nailed a chop. Tanner no-sold, acting like it was nothing.

Next was Mada feeling alive getting a chop to the chest. Mada sold like he just hopped in a cold pool feeling exhilarated. Last was Z.Z. to talk man-to-man with Show, who told him to get in the gym. Show then ripped open Z.Z.'s tanktop and warmed up a big chop to the chest. Z.Z. sold like a champ, then Show helped him away from the corner. Show shook hands with each of the male contestants before noting he basically left a tattoo on Z.Z.'s chest. Show was good here.

[Commercial Break]

Back at the Full Sail studio, Jericho asked the judges for some questions. Bryan congratulated the males for surviving Big Show's chest. He asked Patrick if Z.Z. is lazy. Patrick said Z.Z. is just now starting to step up and getting in the gym trying to get better. Hogan talked up Mada stepping up, then the judges celebrated Sara Lee getting mad and stepping up this week.

Some back-and-forth between the judges and contestants ensued, then Bryan made his pick for the Bottom Three. Bryan noted he's four-for-four on his pick for elimination, so with that in mind, he's picking Z.Z., who has not shown improvement physically. Paige picked Patrick because he has not shown humility. Patrick had to stand next to Z.Z. Hogan said he was going to pick Patrick, then he called out Chelsea. Hogan said he's going to let her slide because she has recovered from the injury. So, Hogan called out Josh, wanting to see if he'll survive in the Bottom Three and be inspired to step it up with the other big monster, Mada, in the group.

Bottom Three: Josh, Z.Z., and Patrick. Jericho said voting is now live. They were not given promo time before the commercial.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Patrick was smiling, Josh was smiling, and Z.Z. looked like a lost puppy. Jericho gave the contestants 15 seconds to make a case to stay on the show. And the voting was done, so the promos has no bearing on the voting.

Jericho asked the judges if they would like to use a save. Bryan said he wants to save two guys, but he won't use it. Paige said no. Same from Hogan.

And the voting was 39 percent for Josh, surprisingly, 36 percent for Z.Z., and 25 percent for Patrick, sending the wrestler home. The studio audience let out a loud shriek of surprise. Patrick could not believe it. He nodded along, processing what happened.

Renee asked Patrick about the cut. He said he's a little shocked, but he knows God allowed him to go through this trial to learn from it. He said he wants to be here in WWE and he will be back. Patrick said he understands that he did not learn his lesson in humility before this elimination, but he will next time he gets the opportunity. Patrick picked Z.Z. as his favorite to win the competition. He said Z.Z. connects with everyone and has the personality to reach people at home.

Jericho hyped The Miz hosting "Tough Talk" on WWE Network after show, indicating Miz was fine to appear on the show after being "injured" on Raw last night.

And then there were four males and four females remaining...
