Main Event opening rolled. Michael Cole welcomed the audience to Main Event live on the Network. Los Matadores made their way to the ring for their upcoming match. Cole said that he has a Christmas gift for everyone tonight and that present is his partner is JBL.

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd are Los Matadores's opponents tonight.

1 -- CESARO & TYSON KIDD (w/Natalya) vs. LOS MATADORES (DIEGO & FERNANDO w/El Torito)

Diego started the match with Kidd. Los Matadores double-teamed Kidd and flipped him over. Kidd gained momentum and tagged in Cesaro. Cesaro gave the big swing to Diego. Kidd was tagged back in and beat down Diego. Cesaro tagged back in and gave a big uppercut and stomped on Diego. Kidd came back in and put Diego in a headlock followed by some spinning kicks.

Cesaro came back in and hit a German suplex followed by some kicks. Cesaro and Kidd double-teamed Diego. Cesaro went for a double axehandle, but Diego countered with a dropkick. He tagged in Fernando and he knocked down Cesaro. Kidd put him to a stop with a kick. Cesaro lifted up Fernando and Kidd hit a swinging neckbreaker off the top for the win.

WINNER: Cesaro and Tyson Kidd at 5:28.

Backstage: Renee Young was with The New Day. She asked Big E. if tonight they can finally put a stop to Gold and Stardust. Big E. said that they keep moving forward no matter what Gold and Stardust do because they share the power of the new day. Xavier said that hopefully they get more interview time now that Big E isn't profusely sweating. He continued by saying this isn't an issue of the past but of the present. The Rhodes Bros. appeared on the TV behind them and Stardust said that they have a present for them and it's the harsh reality of this world. Kofi looked confused and just said "What?"

[JD's Reax: Nobody answered Renee's question, nobody made any sense, and nobody advanced the storyline.]

Summer Rae made her way to the ring for the upcoming contest, followed by her opponent Brie Bella. Cole mentioned that Brie and Daniel Bryan were ranked as one of the top power couples in sports. Hmm, I wonder if that's a good idea to bring up since Bryan is still a good guy babyface while Brie arbitrarily decided to align herself with her despicable twin.

2 -- BRIE BELLA (w/Nikki Bella) vs. SUMMER RAE

Both women locked up early. Brie pushed summer into the corner and stomped her to the ground. Brie countered Summer's kick and pushed her over. Summer came back with a kick and took control. Brie came back with a few clotheslines and kicks. Brie entered into Brie Mode and hit a missile dropkick off the top for the pin.

WINNER: Brie at 2:59.

[Break]

New Day danced to the ring for Big E.'s match. Stardust made his entrance and kicked over a few presents on the way.

3 -- BIG E. (w/Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) vs. "STARDUST" CODY RHODES (w/Goldust)

Stardust put Big E. in a headlock. Big E. broke free and flipped over Stardust. Stardust fled the ring to console with Goldust. He he came back in and hit a flurry of moves on Big E. After many hits and roll-throughs, Big E. hit a belly-to-belly suplex. Stardust escaped and stomped Big E. in the corner.

Stardust put Big E. in a side headlock, then knocked him over as Big E. was gaining momentum. Stardust continued to stomp on Big E. and put him in another headlock. Stardust missed a clothesline allowing Big E. to hit a few clotheslines, a belly-to-belly slam, and a big splash. Stardust kicked Big E. in the head and went to the top, but Goldust accidentally knocked off Stardust and Big hit a big ending for the win.

WINNER: Big E. at 4:59.

[Break]

Announcers: Cole plugged the replay of Tribute to the Troops this Saturday. He then went back to the event from Raw. Then the Raw Rebound aired.

Harper made his way to the ring for the main event.

Vingette: The Ascension

4-- LUKE HARPER vs. JACK SWAGGER

Swagger backed Harper into the corner. Swagger tried to wrap his arms around Harper, but Harper knocked him off with an elbow. Swagger landed a few punches, but Harper put him in a corner and gave him a few chops. Harper pressed Swagger's head on the rope then picked him up. Swagger hit a belly-to-belly suplex and both men stayed down. Swagger made his comeback and clotheslined Harper. He went for the Swaggerbomb, but Harper countered and knock Swagger out of the ring.

[Break]

As you guessed back from the break, Harper had Swagger in a headlock. He kicked Swagger in stomped him in the corner. Harper Irish-whipped Swagger into the corner and followed up with and elbow. Swagger tried to break free until Harper hit another dropkick knocking Swagger to the outside. Harper continued his dominance inside the ring. Swagger kneed Harper, but Harper knocked Swagger to the outside again with an elbow. Swagger threw Harper into the barricade outside and followed up with a clothesline.

Swagger slammed Harper to the mat and went for a pin. Swagger struck Harper, but Harper countered and went for a roll-up. Harper then hit a superkick and went for another pin. Harper tried to flip Swagger for a pin but Swagger escaped and went for the anklelock. Harper went to the top rope, but Swagger ran up and threw him to the ground.

Swagger went for a Swaggerbomb, but Harper countered and slammed him to the mat. Swagger hit a German suplex and followed up with a Swaggerbomb for a nearfall. Harper went for a kick, but Swagger countered with an anklelock. Harper climb to the bottom rope to break the hold. Swagger got knocked out of the ring and ran back in and was hit by clothesline for the pin.

WINNER: Harper at 13:27.

FINAL THOUGHTS: A lot of the same players being used again with small variations to the match-ups. I would like to see a little more rotation between the players who are featured but, keep two or three guys who are consistently shown. I would have one guy who they want to push like Harper be in the main event for a few weeks and just have dominate non competitive wins so that when he comes back to Raw after being off a few weeks, Cole can talk about Harper being dominate on Main Event and if he can bring that to Raw.
