WWE Main Event Results
October 28, 2014
Live from Houston, Tex.
Report by Joel Dehnel, PWTorch contributor

Announcers: Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, and JBL

Main Event opened with Michael Cole introducing the audience to the show live on WWE Network.

The Miz began to make his way to the ring with Damien Mizdow for a Miz TV segment. The crowd started chanting for Mizdow until Miz began talking about last night's Raw. He claimed that he was robbed on Raw, then a video package from Raw aired of Miz and Mizdow losing to The Usos. Miz said that there was an extra man in the ring according to the WWE Rulebook (I would love to see that book). Miz claimed he never lost, then invited The Usos to the ring.

Miz asked The Usos why they cheated and The Usos said they were just the better team. The Usos were imitating Miz and Mizdows gimmick of copying each other. Miz called them out on it and The Usos then started to mimic The Miz. Miz then demanded a re-match right now. Charles Robinson made his way to the ring heading to a break.

[ JD's Reax: More opening comedy on Main Event, but this was not nearly as bad as last week's segment with JBL. Someone high up must've thought it was great because JBL is now on commentary for the show (sigh). ]

[Break]

1 -- THE MIZ & DAMIEN MIZDOW vs. THE USOS

Miz started the match with Jey Uso. Jey took advantage early and tagged in Jimmy Uso. Miz drop kicked Jimmy and pointed at Mizdow and they mimicked each other until Mizdow was tagged in then quickly tagged Miz back in. Jey then came back in and Miz took control with a few kicks. We want Mizdow chants started and Miz teased a tag to Mizdow. Jey then jumped and got a tag to Jimmy Uso and Miz was flung to the outside. Jimmy jumped to the outside on Mizdow then took a big boot by Miz.

[Break]

Miz was back in the ring with Jey Uso. Miz clotheslined Jey in the corner and went to the top rope for a double axehandle. Miz then went for the mid-match headlock. Jey escaped and went for a pin, Miz then recovered and tagged in Mizdow. Mizdow locked in a headlock as Jey was trying to gain momentum. Jey escaped and gave a kick to Mizdow's head. Jimmy and Miz are both tagged in and Jimmy took control and landed a corkscrew on Miz for a two count. Mizdow interfered and behind the back of Miz, Midow and the referee Jey and Jimmy switched places then Jey scored a roll up on Miz.

WINNER: The Usos at 11:44.

Vignette: Breast Cancer Awareness.

[Break]

Announcers: Cole, JBL and Saxton went back to events on Raw between Cena and The Authority. Then, a video package from Raw aired.

Paige made her way to the ring for her match up next.

[Break]

Back from the break a video package aired of the events on Raw between Paige and Alicia Fox.

2 -- PAIGE vs. NATALYA (w/Tyson Kidd)

Tyson Kidd joined the announcers on commentary. Paige and Natalya went back and forth until Natalya applied a headlock. Paige escaped briefly until Natalya went for a roll-up. Paige cheap-shotted Natalya and stomped Natalya in the corner. Natalya escaped and flung Paige to the outside. Natalya baseball slide-kicked Paige. On the outside, Paige superkicked Natalya, then ran back in the ring.

Back in the ring, Paige kicked Natalya in the back of the head and continued to knew her between the ropes. Paige put Natalya in an armwrench and kicked Natalya, then licked her face. Natalya then freaked out and exploded on Paige. Paige put Natalya in a rear naked choke until Natalya powered out. Natalya went for the Sharpshooter, but Paige got to the ropes. Paige tried to beat Natalya with a boa, then she went for the Sharpshooter until Natalya reversed it and Paige powered out. But, Paige rolled up on Natalya for the pin.

WINNER: Paige at 7:05.

Vignette: Bray Wyatt's Eyes.

[ JD's Reax: Really strange vignette that only showed Wyatt's eye. The camera took crowd shots that made the situation even more awkward. I was not sure what they were trying to accomplish other than for people to say, "That was weird." ]

[Break]

Back from the break, Bo Dallas made his way to the ring. He talked about the Survivor Series match made on Raw. He said he wishes he could fight for both teams, but for now he will go with whichever team Bo-lieves! Sheamus then came down the ramp.

3 -- U.S. champion SHEAMUS vs. BO DALLAS -- non-title match

Both men locked up and exchanged moves back and forth. Bo scored a dropkick on Sheamus and ran to the outside to celebrate. Bo went for a handshake, but was thrown out of the ring by Sheamus. On the ring apron Sheamus did ten hits to Dallas's chest. Sheamus then dragged Dallas around the outside until he tripped Sheamus on the apron. They both got back in the ring and Dallas went for a pin. Dallas put on a headlock and slapped Sheamus. Dallas went for the running Bo-dog, but Sheamus countered and hit the Brogue kick.

WINNER: Sheamus at 4:54 with the Brogue Kick.

Sheamus celebrated on the outside and the show closed out.

FINAL THOUGHTS: Miz and Mizdow are beginning to run out of steam as a duo, as fans constantly cheer for Mizdow. Mizdow acts like Santino 2.0 as his 'stunt double gimmick' is beginning to feel stale. Mizdow doesn't do anything heelish so it's no wonder he garners cheers instead of the desired jeers. ... Kidd continued to showcase his personality on commentary, which may help him get recognized by the audience. ... The main event was short, but it got Sheamus over and made sense that Dallas would be squashed again.
