WWE Main Event Results
September 23, 2014
Little Rock, Ark.
Aired on WWE Network
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Main Event opened with pyro and Michael Cole introducing the show. Cole noted Dean Ambrose is on Miz TV tonight, setting up combustible elements in-play for the show.

In-ring: Adam Rose was introduced to start the show. Rose and the bunny came to the ring with the Exotic Express as Cole tried to get Byron Saxton to loosen up. Rose and Co. joined the announce table as Saxton played the reasonable announcer compared to Cole acting ridiculous.

Heath Slater and Titus O'Neil were introduced to the ring as Rose and the Bunny wore headsets at the commentary position. Rose noted he's been working with the Bunny at the Performance Center, prompting Saxton to act incredulous. Los Matadores were then introduced as the opposition. El Torito joined them for the tag match.

1 -- SLATER GATOR (HEATH SLATER & TITUS O'NEIL) vs. LOS MATADORES (DIEGO & FERNANDO w/El Torito)

Rose and Co. distracted Slater Gator by singing and dancing. Un Matador then dropkicked Slater into Titus. The other Matador came off the top with a splash on Slater for the pin and the win. Saxton complained about Rose trying to ruin two Superstars's careers here. Rose and Co. then hopped into the ring to dance with Los Matadores and El Torito.

WINNERS: Los Matadores at 1:23.

Announcers: Cole and Saxton transitioned to a video game plug for "WWE 2K15." WWE ran the full trailer for the video game, closing with Sting pointing his bat toward the crowd.

[False Break]

In-ring: Mark Henry was introduced for the next segment. Henry walked out dressed in a suit to speak to the audience about Rusev. Once in the ring, Henry said what he's about to say is very emotional for him. So, he wrote down his thoughts. "U-S-A" chant from the crowd.

Henry said he's not apologizing to America twice. He said the crowd and Rusev knew that he was hurt, but he was forced into having another match with Rusev. Henry said the crowd encouraged him to get in the ring with a man who decimated him the night before. And now he's hurt even worse. But, don't blame him. It's all the people's fault. He said he did the best he could do, but he's still not appreciated.

Henry said as much as he loves their country, people only care about winners. "America is obsessed with winning ... at the expense of people who work harder than you've ever thought about working," Henry said. And if he doesn't win, then he's no longer "your boy." Henry said he just had to get that off his chest. Henry started to leave.

Out came Big Show to no music looking to respond to Henry's comments. Show patted Henry on the chest, then asked Mark to listen to him. He said he knows Henry is upset and he's known him for a long time and they're brothers from another mother. Here's the thing. He knows Henry tried his hardest and he knows part of it is his fault for putting pressure on him to beat Rusev, but he is his brother and he feels his pain. Show said he'll stand right here with Henry and get booed with him. Boos. He said he'll make him a promise - he'll knock Rusev "smooth the hell out" this Friday on Smackdown. Henry smiled, then they hugged. Show's music played and he led Henry out of the ring.

So, Show thinks he's better than Henry thinking he can top Rusev? That will probably be what turns Henry heel on Show.

Reigns Update: Roman Reigns will be out of action for several months.

Video Package: Brock Lesnar (oh yeah, him) against John Cena at Night of Champions.

In-ring: Divas champion A.J. Lee was introduced to the ring. She joined commentary heading to break.

[False Break]

2 -- PAIGE vs. NAOMI

Naomi completed her ring entrance back from break as A.J. held her "baby" Divas Title. Paige was then introduced as Naomi's opponent. Paige controlled early on and took a break to scream toward A.J., frustrated seeing A.J. holding the Divas Title. Paige then got the win to send a message to A.J. Afterward, A.J. hit the ring and blindsided Paige with a belt shot to the head. And she's supposed to be the babyface? A.J. smiled, then skipped out of the ring a safe distance away from Paige, who pounded the mat in frustration.

WINNER: Paige at 3:11. Odd. Strange. Not the characters, but the booking.

[Break]

Raw Rebound: Seth Rollins's feud with John Cena and a returning Dean Ambrose.

Smackdown plug: Rhodes Bros. vs. The Usos for the Tag Titles in a PPV re-match.

Backstage: Renee Young brought in The Usos to hype their title re-match on Friday.

[Break]

In-ring: The disappearing Kofi Kingston was introduced for the next match. Bo Dallas, who was shown walking down the hallway prior to the break, was out next to face Kofi. In the ring, Bo said last night on Raw, he finally found out what it was like to be a loser. Kind of like Kofi. He smiled and said it's good to see Kofi, though, because he didn't realize he still worked here. Bo offered a suggestion to become more relevant: go from Boom, Boom, Boom to Bo, Bo, Bo.

3 -- "Mr. Irrelevant" KOFI KINGSTON vs. BO DALLAS

Kofi delivered an early springboard cross-body splash for a two count, then kicked Bo repeatedly in the mid-section to follow up. Kofi tried another high-flying move, but Bo ducked and rolled up Kofi for a close two count. Kofi came back with a glancing blow on a corner spot, then he kind of ran into Bo on Trouble in Paradise. Kofi covered Bo for the pin and the win.

Afterward, Saxton covered for the heel losing by saying Bo inspired Kofi to get the win. Ringside, Bo grimaced and leaned against the ring steps frustrated with his latest loss.

WINNER: Kofi at 2:18. Apparently Bo's new gig is losing to every opponent after "inspiring" them with pre-match mockery.

[Break]

Miz TV - Dean Ambrose

The Miz and Damien Sandow were introduced to the ring dressed in all-black street clothes and jackets and sunglasses and hair tonight. In the ring, Miz frowned, apparently upset over losing the IC Title last night. Miz said an amateur would make this show all about him, but he's a giver. But, what happened to him Monday on Raw was miscarriage of justice. He yelled that he had the title taken from him by a piece of scum like --- Miz calmed down and said he is far too sophisticated to let that get under his skin.

Miz brought out his guest, Dean Ambrose. Ambrose strolled out on-stage in a calm mood, then slowly walked down tot he ring as Miz and Sandow mock-applauded him from their director's chairs. Ambrose eventually entered the ring and mockingly shook Miz's hand before sitting down.

Miz said it's been a long time since they've seen Ambrose before Sunday and Monday. Miz rolled footage of Kane and Seth Rollins putting Ambrose through cinder blocks last month on Raw, which Ambrose wasn't too pleased to re-live. Miz said sources tell him Ambrose suffered significant head and neck trauma, but no one really knows for sure since Ambrose refused treatment and then he took off.

Ambrose ignored the question about where he went and what kind of condition his head is in. "A normal person doesn't walk away from that, but I'm not a normal person, I'm Dean Ambrose," he eventually said. Ambrose said The Authority has picked a fight that they cannot win, which the crowd cheered. Miz said he thinks Ambrose is insane. And he'll prove his theory. Last Monday on Raw, nothing could stop Ambrose from getting to Seth Rollins, not even a locked room. Ambrose just laughed to himself as Miz recapped Ambrose showing up ringside in the Raw main event to attack Rollins, Kane, and Randy Orton.

Back to Miz, who asked the crowd if they liked that. Cheers. Miz said what he wants to know how he got out of the locked room. Blew it up? Accomplice? "Simple. There was a back door," Ambrose dryly said to laughs. Miz sarcastically thanked him for the lack of a scoop. Ambrose laughed to himself and said The Authority put him in a room with two doors. Sorry, man, if you feel cheated out of a story. Miz said what cheating is what happened Monday on Raw when Dolph Ziggler won the IC Title!

Miz got in Ambrose's face with his angry feelings about Monday, so Ambrose headbutted Miz. Ambrose then dumped Sandow out of the ring before dropping Miz with Dirty Deeds. Ambrose then placed a KO'ed Miz back in his director chair, put the glasses back on, and thanked Miz for being a great host on Miz TV. Ambrose left the ring to cheers as Miz remained unconscious looking like Bernie from "Weekend at Bernie's." Ambrose headed up the ramp to the back as Main Event wrapped up with Cole noting The Authority will have to come up with a better plan to get rid of Ambrose.
