WWE Saturday Morning Slam Results
May 11, 2013
Aired on CW - Episode #38
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

Taped from the U.K., the voice-over man introduced the show and plugged this morning's main event of Sheamus and Randy Orton against the Prime Time Players. The voice-over man also relayed Slam GM Mick Foley's booking plans for the opening match.

GM Office: The Cobra and Mr. Socko exchanged thoughts in puppet form. The camera pulled back to show Santino and Mick Foley, respectively, manning the puppets. They engaged in a discussion about possibly having a reunion match, but Foley wasn't biting. Santino said he could face 3MB instead. After they mocked the group, Jinder Mahal walked in and sarcastically said Foley must think he's a stand-up comedian. Santino and Jinder went back-and-forth, prompting Foley to book them in a singles match. Foley said Jinder is a solo act tonight because he's banning Heath Slater and Drew McIntyre from ringside. More musical puns from Foley drove Jinder away from this situation.

In-ring: Santino's music played to bring out Santino riding a bike down to the ring. From ringside, Josh Mathews introduced the show and introduced Alicia Fox as his co-host this morning. 3MB's music then brought out Jinder Mahal by himself. A. Fox said this is actually a great opportunity for Jinder to prove himself a leader, not a follower.

1 - SANTINO vs. JINDER MAHAL

As the match started, Mathews quizzed Fox on whether she has heard 3MB's music before. Fox balked at this, then equated their work to Hansen. The crowd started up a "Santino" chant early on as Jinder angrily dominated Santino. Jinder retained control as Mathews commented on Fox being the first Diva to join him on Slam commentary. Jinder still in control heading to break.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, Jinder was preparing to climb to the top rope. But, Santino rolled far, far away from the corner, buying himself some time. Mahal then hopped down to the mat to attack Santino, but Santino blocked and landed big right hands. Santino then mounted a comeback with signature Marella Martial Arts offense. Santino then busted out The Cobra and popped Mahal in the mouth. It was good for the pin and the win.

WINNER: Santino at 6:31. Perfect fit on the Saturday morning kids show.

Backstage: Mick Foley was hanging out in his office, then Sheamus walked in for a chat. Sheamus thanked Foley for booking him and Randy Orton in a match this morning, then Foley sang. Sheamus, initially reluctant, decided to join in. Sheamus then took over, pushing Foley out of the spotlight. Suddenly, Sheamus spotted a man in the distance. It was an unimpressed Randy Orton with arms folded. Sheamus stopped singing and decided he should talk strategy with ol' Orton. Foley agreed.

Stil to come: Orton & Sheamus vs. the Prime Time Players from the U.K.

[Commercial Break]

Saturday Morning Spotlight: Returning from break, WWE ran a highlight package on Orton and Sheamus's work, complete with soundbytes from WWE announcers calling out their signature moves.

In-ring: Randy Orton's music played to bring out Orton for a rare Saturday Slam appearance. Sheamus was out next, followed by the Prime Time Players, who got some fans in the crowd dancing from side to side.

2 -- RANDY ORTON & SHEAMUS vs. PRIME TIME PLAYERS (TITUS O'NEIL & DARREN YOUNG)

A. Fox spilled some secrets about the competitors early on while Orton and Sheamus dominated D-Young in the ring. Titus then blew his whistle and called a time-out as Young simply dropped off the apron to the floor. Orton, not amused, stared down Titus leading to break.

[Commercial Break]

Coming back from break, Sheamus provided this week's Don't Try This At Home message.

Back to the match, Orton was in trouble after the Players gained control during the break. Players continued to work on Orton for a few minutes before Sheamus hot-tagged into the match and dismantled D-Young.

Sheamus delivered White Noise, then posed for the crowd. Titus took a dive over the top rope, then Sheamus tagged in Orton, who snapped on Young with a sudden RKO. It was good for the pin and the win. A. Fox called it a good morning, while Josh Mathews called it an adrenaline rush to start your morning. After a replay of the finish, Orton and Sheamus were shown posing in the ring to close the show.

WINNERS: Orton & Sheamus at 7:54. Basic house show-style, feel-good victory for the face duo. Perfectly fine.
