WWE Saturday Morning Slam Results
May 4, 2013
Aired on CW - Episode #37
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

This week's show opened with a plug for the opening match of Jey Uso against Darren Young. Slam then ran a video package highlighting both Uso and D-Young.

In-ring: The Prime Time Players were introduced to the ring as Josh Mathews and Brad Maddox introduced the show from ringside.

WWE then cut to footage from "earlier this morning" when the Players interrupted Mick Foley's dance session with the Usos. Players then gave Foley his own dance session doing the Millions of Dollars dance. Jey Uso laughed it off, then told the Players to put their two dollars where their mouth is. Titus decided to take that offer and book D-Young in a match...next week since they have a fish-fry to go to. But, Foley had other ideas and booked the match this morning. "Ain't nobody got time for that," D-Young declared as Titus flipped out.

Back in the arena, the Usos entered the arena to battle with the Players.

1 -- JEY USO (w/Jimmy Uso) vs. DARREN YOUNG (w/Titus O'Neil)

D-Young with an early take down, then he celebrated in the corner. They locked up again, and this time Jey roughed up D-Young's hair. Young then slipped to the outside and pouted before requesting Titus fix his hair. Slam cut to break with Young "recovering" on the outside.

Back on Slam, D-Young was in control of the action. But, Jey Uso tossed Young across the ring to slow down the Player. Uso tried a corner attack, but Young yanked him down across the buckle. Titus fixed Young's hair during a reset, then Young began toying with Uso. Young wanted a big top-rope suplex, but Uso shoved him down. Uso then wanted a Superfly Splash, but Titus shoved Uso off the top rope, causing a DQ.

WINNER: Uso at 7:50 via DQ.

Post-match, the Usos reluctantly took their victory as the Players complained to the ref. Suddenly, Mick Foley's music played to bring out Foley on-stage. Foley looked around the arena, then said it seems like they have a classic good news / bad news situation. Foley said it seems that there are some unresolved personal issues here. So, he has a way to resolve these issues. By having a tag team contest right here on Saturday Slam. And that contest begins right now.

2 -- THE USOS vs. PRIME TIME PLAYERS (TITUS O'NEIL & DARREN YOUNG)

Back from break, Titus opened with a move, then celebrated, turned around, and ate a chop from Jimmy Uso. Titus had enough of that and drove Jimmy to the corner to bring in D-Young for offense. As Young and Uso battled, Mathews described Young's early-morning work-out routine to continue selling the idea of this event occurring on a Saturday morning.

The Usos regained control and Jey tagged in, went for a superkick, but D-Young ducked and rolled to the outside. Young called for another "time-out," prompting Brad Maddox to hilariously quip that they have one time-out left. Mathews, not amused, noted there are no time-outs in WWE. Back in the ring, the Players regained control leading to break.

[Commercial Break]

Coming back from break, Mick Foley provided this week's Don't Try This At Home video. Just ignore the footage of him jumping off his roof as a youth.

Back in the ring, the Players were still in control of the action. Young and Titus exchanged tags before Titus went to a three-point stance and destroyed the turnbuckle when Uso moved. After Titus crashed to the mat, Jimmy Uso made his way cross the ring to tag in Jey simultaneous to D-Young tagging in.

Jey delivered dropkicks and headbutts into a chop. Samoan Drop put D-Young on the mat, then in the corner recovering. Uso followed with a cannonball splash in the corner for a close two count, freaking out the kids in the crowd who thought it was three. Uso with another Samoan Drop, but Titus broke up the pin. So, Jimmy smashed Titus with a superkick to clear him.

Jey then smashed D-Young with a standing kick and climbed to the top. Superfly Splash to D-Young and it was good for the pin and the win. Brad said he's going to have to tell Vickie Guerrero about the Usos's performance this morning. After the match, The Usos celebrated in the ring as Mathews signed off for this week.

WINNERS: Usos at 11:30. Solid tag action. Nice use of a singular issue to stretch out 30 minutes of content and focus on four wrestlers. Well-done.
