-Main Event opening music video followed by pyro. I wonder if that is “canned” pyro or if they do pyro every week, as WWE tries to save money by occasionally not doing pyro to kick off a show. JBL is on commentary tonight with Cole, since The Miz is in action tonight.
-The Miz makes his entrance, The Primetime Players are out next, and he faces both of them in a handicap match next!
-Before the bell rings, Wade Barrett comes out for commentary. On his way to the booth he cuts a short promo about how Miz will be a victim of the Barrett Barrage at WrestleMAnia.
1 - THE MIZ vs. DARREN YOUNG & TITUS O’NEIL - handicap match
Miz starts off with Darren Young, and Cole notes that now Miz has to watch his back in addition to the Players. Miz and Young trade headlocks, Young takes him down with a shoulder tackle. Young plays to the crowd and Miz connects with an inverted atomic drop, then Young rolls to the floor.
Main Event returns with Miz peppering Titus with a series of right hands at the 5:00 mark. Titus shrugs off the blows and knocks Miz down with a clothesline and then barks like a seal! Miz gets caught attempting a sunset flip, Titus picks him up and slams him back down.
Tag to Young as Barrett and Cole talk about Rock versus Cena and Brock versus Triple H instead of the match in the ring. Miz reverses a vertical suplex at 7:00 and then whips Young into the turnbuckle. Miz mounts the turnbuckle and punches Young ten times as the crowd chants along. Barrett notes that Miz is holding his own against two men, but at Mania it will feel like he is facing 22 men when he faces Wade Barrett.
Young runs into a knee to his midsection, Miz gets a two count, and Young rolls to the floor in front of the announce team. Titus helps Young back into the ring, but Miz meets him with knees to the gut. Miz tries the figure-four leglock, Titus tries to interfere, but Miz knocks him to the floor before he can get in the ring. Miz connects with his patented neck breaker and DDT combo as Main Event goes to commercial at the 10:00 mark!
Back to action, Titus mows over The Miz and tries to put him away, but is unsuccessful. Abdominal stretch by the Player, but he neither grabs a rope for leverage nor grabs his partner's hand to put extra pressure on. That is very unheel like! Backbreaker and fallaway slam by Titus isn’t good enough to put The Miz away, Darren Young is tagged in. Young puts Miz in a rear chinlock as the crowd gets behind Miz to make a comeback. Miz fights out at 15:00 and unloads on Darren Young, but Young comes back with a haymaker.
Titus is tagged back in, and they double-team Miz. JBL and Wade Barrett talk about the referee, saying that he slightly resembles "Bullet" Bob Armstrong. Miz ducks a charge in the corner by Titus, Young is tagged in, but Miz had a moment to rest and is a house of fire! Miz clotheslines Young in the corner and takes out O’Neil. Miz comes off the top rope with a double axehandle smash!
Titus breaks up a pin attempt, then Miz dumps him to the outside and walks into a Northern Lights suplex for a two count. Titus comes back and causes another distraction, but Miz knocks him out and puts Young into the Figure-Four Leglock, and Young taps immediately!
WINNER: The Miz by submission in 18:47.
-Afterward, Miz and Barrett have a staredown, then Barrett holds up his title and dares The Miz to take it from him. They go to replay and then show Miz taunting Wade as he makes his way to the back.
Mike's Reax: On one hand – oh, how the Prime Time Players have fallen. On the other hand – The Miz got a nice shot in the arm before WrestleMania. Miz is on a nice winning streak heading into his title match against Barrett, and this was a good win for him going into the biggest show of the year. Now that the WrestleMania Season is just about wrapped up, maybe they can start rehabbing the PTP to become tag team title contenders again.
-Last Monday, Vince McMahon tweeted that he has a big reveal on Friday.
-A replay of Undertaker's promo from Raw is shown, as well as C.M. Punk dumping Paul Bearer's ashes onto Taker. I didn’t find this as disrespectful as others did; I will say that it put some much needed heat on Punk going into the match this Sunday. It also didn’t look like ashes, it looked like kitty litter to me.
-Last Monday, Shawn Michaels came back to weigh in on Sunday's match between Triple H and Brock Lesnar. I have to say, Shawn is a horrible friend. For the third year in a row, Shawn told Hunter that he is going to get his butt kicked. What an awesome friend who never backs up his buddy. I’m glad Shawn blocked me on Twitter, as I don’t want to be friends with him anymore. I don’t mean that, please unblock me Shawn! Please. Heyman and Brock interrupt their catchphrase and warn Shawn about being in Hunter’s corner. I shudder to think what this feud would have been without Paul cutting promos for Lesnar!
-Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter’s “State of the Union” address is shown.
-Matt Striker is backstage with Big Show, and he timidly asks Big Show if he is turning over a new leaf. Show says that Orton and Sheamus don’t want him to turn over a new leaf, because they want him as cruel as can be. Show calls his match against The Shield a match about revenge and teaching those rookies why you don’t mess with the World’s Largest Athlete.
-Main Event wraps up with a look at the John Cena versus Rock WWE Title match at Mania.
