WWE Saturday Morning Slam Results
November 17, 2012
Aired on CW - Episode #13
Report by James Caldwell, PWTorch assistant editor

This week's half-hour Saturday morning show started with an arena shot as the voice-over man introduced the show and plugged Kofi Kingston vs. Zack Ryder in the main event.

In-ring: William Regal's music played for the opening match. On commentary, Santino and Josh Mathews talked up Regal's craftiness before R-Truth came out to face Regal.

1 -- WILLIAM REGAL vs. R-TRUTH

Pink middle rope here, so this was taped in October. Truth and Regal danced around the ring and pretended like Little Jimmy was in the ring, then Truth scored with an armdrag before celebrating with the invisible child. They cut to a shot of Mathews cackling at the announce table before returning to the ring for a look at Regal beginning to pick apart Truth. Suddenly, Truth ducked a clothesline, kind of rolled up Regal, trapped Regal's face into the mat, and scored a quick three count just before Regal could escape. Cue up a post-match celebration for Truth and the invisible child as Regal sold annoyance ringside.

WINNER: Truth at 3:10.

Video feature: Outtakes from The Miz's Survivor Series commercial shoot.

Video Vault: Miz and R-Truth tried to take out The Rock and John Cena at last year's Survivor Series. However, Rock pinned Miz in his in-ring return. This was followed by video clips from Survivor Series '96 when The Rock debuted, Survivor Series '97 when Bret Hart was screwed out of the WWE Title, and various clips from traditional Survivor Series matches through the years.

Saturday Morning Spotlight: Kofi Kingston. Chilli talked up Kofi in the video feature, followed by Layla and Kofi himself.

Up next: IC champion Kofi Kingston faces Zack Ryder in the main event.

Back on Slam, a super-serious David Otunga provided this week's Don't Try This At Home message.

In-ring: Zack Ryder's music played back in the arena setting. Santino hyped his Team Co-Bro tag partner before Kofi Kingston came out for a face vs. face main event. Santino informed the kids that both men fight clean, so this should be a fair match.

2 -- IC champion KOFI KINGSTON vs. ZACK RYDER -- non-title match

Lock-up and clean break in the corner before Ryder fist-pumped in Kofi's face. Kofi then playfully lowered Ryder's headband over his face, causing Ryder to flail about the ring. Ryder eventually left the ring before asking Kofi if he's serious, bro. Ryder dropped off the headband at Santino's announce position before Kofi lowered the middle rope to allow Ryder fair entry back into the ring.

Back in the ring, a smiling Kofi offered the Code of Honor, but Ryder rolled him up for a close two count. Kofi, now a bit agitated, took this more seriously going for a lock-up, but Ryder shoved him to the corner. Kofi escaped a Broski Boot by rolling to the outside, then Ryder and Kofi played games avoiding each other before having a stalemate on the outside.

[Commercial Break]

Back on Slam, Ryder was in control with a seated waistlock, which Kofi countered with a slingshot over the top rope to the apron. Ryder then flipped back into the ring for a quick two count on Kofi. Pinfall exchange, then Ryder rolled up Kofi for a close two count. Ryder avoided a corner splash in the heat of the moment before establishing offensive control on Kofi. Santino noted it's down to the most physically fit competitor at this point.

Ryder maintained control for a few minutes before Kofi flowed into a Russian Legsweep. Kofi followed with a Boom Drop before teasing Trouble in Paradise. Kofi measured Zack, but Ryder ducked. Ryder teased the Rough Ryder, but Kofi threw him away. Kofi then hopped to the top turnbuckle for a top-rope cross-body splash. It was good for the pin and the win. Afterward, Kofi celebrated before shaking hands with Ryder. Kofi then finished off his celebration as Mathews and Santino signed off for this week.

WINNER: Kingston at 9:04. The second-half was oddly edited, but the match looked off at times. Still, a fine back-and-forth, fan-friendly performance for the kids.
