Second Hour Results

[Q5 -- second hour] Executive Office: Stephanie McMahon was trying to talk to Vince, but Vince kept his back to his daughter. Stephanie said what Vince did to Hunter out there was embarrassing and he walked all over him out there. Vince then turned around and said he heard what Hunter said about him last week and what Steph said about Vince not getting any younger. Vince said he cares about WWE - business-first. Steph said she cares about WWE, too. Vince said no matter what, you do what's best for business every single time.

Vince told Steph to keep Hunter away from him. Steph sweetly asked if he would just talk to Hunter. Vince paused and repeated Hunter's line from earlier that he won't like what he has to say and how he will say it. Vince excused himself to run the show, prompting Steph to take a deep breath and try to figure out what to do.

In-ring: Chris Jericho was introduced to the ring as Cole plugged Jericho vs. C.M. Punk this Sunday at Payback. Cole then introduced footage from Smackdown when Heyman helped Axel defeat Jericho by using a C.M. Punk distraction.

Back live in the ring, Jericho had a mic in-hand. Jericho welcomed everyone to Raw is Jericho, then noted he has faced some of the greatest "performers" in WWE history through the years - Austin, Rock, Hunter, Foley, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Cena, and Orton. But, Punk pushes him to the limit and makes him a "better performer" more than anyone else. Pause for "C-M-Punk" chant.

Jericho said you can say what you want about Punk and his opinions, but what makes him so good is that he believes he's the Best in the World. It's why they're such evenly-matched opponents. Jericho said they have the same chip on their shoulder, accept nothing less than the best, and came into the business the same way. Jericho paused, then said this Sunday at Payback, Punk vs. Jericho III will continue their series of classic match-ups. Jericho promised that at Payback, Punk will get his best. No guarantee of victory from Jericho. "You will get my best because I need to beat you. I have to beat you at Payback," Jericho said. Jericho said after their match, neither one will ever - evvvvvvvvvver be the same - suddenly, Dolph Ziggler's music interrupted.

World Hvt. champion Dolph Ziggler walked out on-stage in street clothes flanked by A.J. Lee and Big E. Langston. Ziggler, returning to Raw for the first time in one month after suffering a concussion, said the nameplate on the title belt wasn't even fresh when he won the World Title. Ziggler said he sat at home reflecting on how he earned this title when no one wanted him to have it. He said that at Payback, he will prove to Alberto Del Rio that Del Rio is out-classed in the ring, on the mic, in the back, and on the streets.

Jericho interrupted with his "blah blah blah" routine before telling Ziggler that he's stepping ahead of himself. He said Sunday is a long ways away. This is Raw. In Richmond, Virginia. Jericho suggested a tune-up match for Ziggler tonight to shake off the ring rust. Ziggler responded that if Jericho wants a match, he got it. Against Big E. Langston. Ziggler said he'll be at Payback. Ziggler told "E" to get him. Langston then marched down to the ring with Ziggler and A.J. slowly walking behind him. The match is next.

PAYPACK MATCH NEWS: Ziggler vs. Del Rio for the World Title kind of official for the PPV.

[Commercial Break at 9:10]

4 -- CHRIS JERICHO vs. BIG E. LANGSTON (w/World Hvt. champion Dolph Ziggler and A.J. Lee)

The match was joined in-progress with Langston and Jericho battling on the floor. Langston ran over Jericho with a clothesline as the announcers noted Jericho tweaked his knee early in the match.

[Q6] Jericho flung Langston to the outside, then played to the crowd. As Jericho measured Langston for a dropkick through the ropes, Cole plugged Punk's first match since WrestleMania this Sunday at Payback. On the outside, Langston ran Jericho shoulder-first into the ringpost. Back in the ring, Langston attacked Jericho with power offense. Meanwhile, on the App, Del Rio was animated talking to Josh Mathews about something.

Back in the ring, Jericho side-stepped a corner charge and rolled up Langston from behind for a nearfall. But, Langston ran over Jericho with a hard clothesline to re-assume control of the match. The announcers then talked about Ziggler being rusty heading into his title defense against Del Rio on Sunday.

Jericho made a comeback at 4:00, then limped around the ring before kicking Langston in the chest. Jericho tried to follow with a cross-body press, but Langston intercepted and delivered consecutive backbreakers for a close two count. Langston followed with body shots, but Jericho blocked another corner charge. Jericho then flew off the top rope with a cross-body press for a two count.

Ziggler hopped on the ring apron to yell at Jericho, who took the bait, allowing Langston to smash Jericho with a chest press. Langston then dropped the straps and prepared for the Big Ending, but Del Rio hit the ringside area and attacked Ziggler from behind. This distracted Langston, who walked into the Codebreaker from Jericho. Jericho scored the pin for the win.

Post-match, Del Rio celebrated on-stage, Jericho grabbed JBL's cowboy hat to celebrate his victory, and Ziggler threw a fit ringside. After a replay of the finish, Jericho was shown celebrating with U.S. military on the front row. Meanwhile, Del Rio did the belt-around-the-waist motion toward Ziggler.

WINNER: Jericho at 6:31.

Announcers: Cole and Co. transitioned to a plug for WWE Magazine. Jericho then joined the commentators to share a word with Lawler. Still to come tonight: Orton vs. Reigns and Bryan vs. Rollins in singles action.

[Commercial Break at 9:23]

During the break, Zeb Colter came to ringside for the next segment. Meanwhile, on the App, Colter questioned why Del Rio can get away with interfering in a match he has nothing to do with.

Back live on Raw, Sin Cara's music played to bring out Cara for singles action. On commentary, Cole acknowledged Zeb Colter ringside. Colter questioned Cara hiding behind a mask, then Antonio Cesaro was introduced. Cesaro was without a flag and had no extra gimmicks, but he was hunched over walking to the ring like the Repo Man.

5 -- ANTONIO CESARO vs. SIN CARA

Cesaro dominated early on as Colter noted he approves Cesaro's method for legally coming to the U.S., while Cara probably snuck across the border wearing a mask to avoid being caught by cameras. Cesaro continued to attack Cara before Colter noted Jack Swagger will be "back soon" after recovering from injury. Colter then accused WWE management of trying to silence him. Colter proceeded to heel on T-Mobile, saying their signal was too terrible for the government to spy on him.

[Q7] Cara suddenly made a comeback with a head scissors, then delivered a Canadian Destroyer of sorts for a close two count. Cole then accused Colter of making his money in another country, Puerto Rico. "Puerto Rico is part of the U.S.!" Colter replied, silencing Cole before JBL ganged up on him in a discussion of P.R. being an American territory. Meanwhile, Cesaro cut off Cara's attack and hit the Neutralizer for the pin.

WINNER: Cesaro at 3:52. Cesaro got a TV win, but the focus was everywhere else. Meanwhile, WWE has nothing going for Cara.

Vignette: Cole quickly transitioned from Cesaro's win to Week 3 of the Wyatt Family's introduction. The video was the same from the past two weeks.

Still to come tonight: Cena-Ryback face-to-face confrontation ahead of Payback. Leading to break, WWE ran the E! spot for "Total Divas" premiering in July.

[Commercial Break at 8:35. Coincidentally, there was a Spanish-language commercial following Colter's segment.]

Back live, the announcers plugged Sheamus vs. Sandow this Sunday on the Payback pre-show.

GM's Office: Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox were about to dig into a Carl's Jr. burger. But, it was only for Vickie, apparently. Vickie described how good it was to Brad, who tried to calm her down. Brad told Vickie to turn around as Mr. McMahon walked in, nearly causing Vickie to choke. McMahon told Vickie not to lick her fingers or talk with her mouth full. He then asked Vickie what she was thinking putting Cena and Ryback in a segment tonight when they could hurt each other before the PPV main event. Vickie defended it as great TV, but Vince said she can't put the PPV main event in jeopardy.

"If you think as well as you eat, you'll come up with the answer," Vince told Vickie. Brad then presented his booking idea that all of the lumberjacks should be ringside to prevent Cena and Ryback from tearing each other apart and it will put focus on the Three Stages of Hell match at Payback. McMahon liked this idea and told Vickie to share her burger with Brad. McMahon walked off and Vickie slapped Brad for making her look bad.

In-ring: Randy Orton was introduced to the ring to face Roman Reigns. Orton's tag partner at the PPV, Daniel Bryan was out next to be ringside with Orton. After a replay of Orton dropping Bryan with the RKO on Smackdown, they cut to a live shot of Bryan and Orton sharing uneasy glances leading to break.

[Q8] [Commercial Break at 9:45]

In-ring: Back live, Shield's music played to bring out Tag Champ Roman Reigns to face Randy Orton. Rollins accompanied Reigns to ringside, while Ambrose took off through the crowd.

6 -- WWE tag champion ROMAN REIGNS (w/WWE tag champion Seth Rollins) vs. RANDY ORTON (w/Daniel Bryan)

As the match unfolded, Cole described Orton as a "loner by trade." The match then spilled to the outside, where Orton dropped Reigns back-first across the barricade. Orton then stared down Rollins, who got too close for comfort. Back in the ring, Orton went to work on Reigns. Meanwhile, the announcers noted Kane hugging Vickie earlier in the show "worked up an appetite for Vickie."

Orton delivered corner punches and a headbutt at 4:00, continuing to slow down the pace. Orton wanted a second-rope move, but Reigns delivered what Cole described as a Superman Punch that knocked Orton to the floor. Reigns squatted down in the ring to recover as Raw quietly cut to break.

[Commercial Break at 9:54]

Back from break two minutes before the top of the hour, Reigns was still in control of the match. Meanwhile, Lawler noted that D-Bryan does not seem to be emotionally-invested in the match, but seemed to be ringside just to be there since he has to team with Orton at Payback. Bryan then half-heartedly started pounding the mat to rally the crowd behind Orton, who suplexed Reigns to break free.

[Q9 -- third hour] Orton started feeling it with consecutive clotheslines and a snap powerslam. Orton kicked Reigns in the gut, but Reigns ducked a clothesline. Orton came back with a fallaway backbreaker, then stalked Reigns for the RKO, but Reigns rolled to the apron. Orton transitioned into the second-rope DDT, firing up the crowd.

Orton wanted the RKO, then Rollins suddenly smashed Bryan on the outside. Rollins entered the ring, but Orton flung him away. Bryan then came flying through the ropes with a suicide dive to both Reigns and Rollins on the outside. Bryan led the crowd in a very loud "Yes!" chant as the bell sounded. The match was ruled a No Contest because both Bryan and Rollins got involved. Orton and Bryan then awkwardly transitioned to trading spots for the next match.

WINNER: No Contest at 11:54.

7 -- DANIEL BRYAN (w/Randy Orton) vs. WWE tag champion SETH ROLLINS (w/WWE tag champion Roman Reigns)

Not a smooth transition to this match happening, but Bryan quickly got the crowd re-invested with rapid-fire kicks to Rollins. Bryan delivered strikes, forearms, strikes, forearms, and strikes before grabbing a submission and delivering "Yes!" elbows to the neck for a two count. On the outside, Bryan delivered a flying knee smash to the face before dragging Rollins back into the ring.

In the ring, Rollins reversed momentum with a corner smash, then began working on Bryan. The crowd did not sit silently, instead starting a "Let's Go Bryan" chant. Rollins silenced the crowd with a Surfboard Stretch, mocking D-Bryan in the process. But, Bryan powered out of the hold and kicked Rollins over and over in the leg. Bryan then slapped on a Surfboard of his own, which he turned into a Dragon Sleeper. Rollins teased tapping out as Bryan bent him backwards. But, Rollins fought out. Cole excitedly sent Raw to break as the crowd buzzed over the near-finish.

[Commercial Break at 10:07]

Back from break, Rollins had Bryan in a chinlock mid-ring. The crowd was taken out of the match by the slow pace, allowing Cole to plug some international TV partners. Bryan then came to his feet and traded Yes!/No! bombs with Rollins, who tried his trademark leaping kick, but Bryan intercepted and countered into a half-Crab, which popped the crowd. But, Rollins escaped by grabbing the bottom rope.

Bryan followed with corner kicks before building momentum for a big corner kick. A basement dropkick then resulted in a nearfall. Bryan followed with kick strikes, but Rollins ducked a Roundhouse Kick and put Bryan on the mat for a nearfall. Rollins then started doing Bryan's kick strike routine, mocking Bryan. Rollins followed with a Buckle Bomb, but Bryan kicked out in-time. "Oh, what a match," Lawler said. The crowd picked up a "Let's Go Bryan" chant as both men recovered on the mat.

[Q10] At 13:00, Rollins went for an attack against the ropes, but Bryan ducked and flipped Rollins to the outside. Bryan tried to follow with a suicide dive, but Rollins smashed him in the face. Back in the ring, Bryan cut off Rollins's momentum and smashed him with a kick to the face for a nearfall. Bryan then climbed up-top, but Rollins crotched him. Rollins tried to follow up, but Bryan blocked. Cole called this a very even match-up, then Bryan wanted a belly-to-back suplex, but Rollins shifted momentum into a cross-body splash on the way down.

At 15:30, Reigns got on the ring apron to yell at Bryan, but Orton yanked him down. The momentary distraction allowed Bryan to avoid a corner charge from Rollins. Bryan then rolled up Reigns from behind and scored a quick three count, popping the crowd.

Post-match: Rollins tried to sneak-attack Bryan, but Bryan flung him aside and Orton hit the ring to deliver an RKO to Rollins, who rolled out of the ring to recover with Reigns. Bryan and Orton then shared a conversation about needing to be on the same page Sunday, as they were tonight. Bryan then led the crowd in a loud "Yes!" chant.

WINNER: Bryan at 15:38. Yes, Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black were given 16 minutes in the ring on Raw. The idea was to make Shield look vulnerable ahead of the PPV, but it's getting a little too close to Shield drifting to that mid-card territory where heel champions always lose on TV. Shield still has a lot of equity built up over the past nine months, but two losses and a No Contest tonight is suspect. (***)

Earlier Tonight: Triple H and Mr. McMahon had issues. And, Stephanie McMahon begged Hunter not to hurt Vince. Watching Steph's bad acting - potentially intentionally-bad for the storyline - for the third time tonight, it makes you wonder if she was parodying Brooke Hogan in the Hogan Family Drama on TNA TV.

Backstage: Kaitlyn was shown anticipating the reveal of her Secret Admirer. It's next.
