ROH TV Report
Aired July 19, 2015 in syndication
To air July 22, 2015 on Dest. America
Taped 6/20 in New York, N.Y.
Report by Mike Metzger (@md0uble), PWTorch contributor

The ROH "Creating Excellence" signature aired, followed by the ROH TV opening.

Inside the arena, a graphic reading "ROH Episode 200" appeared on the big screen as Kevin Kelly welcomed viewers to the show. Kelly hyped tonight's main event of the House of Truth versus The Briscoes, Roderick Strong, and ODB in an eight-person tag match.

At ringside, Kevin Kelly announced the 200th episode would feature some of the most memorable moments in ROH TV history.

MEMORABLE MOMENT #1: The Addiction defeats reDRagon for the ROH World Tag Team Titles, as the mysterious Knights of the Rising Dawn are revealed to be Daniels, Kazarian, and Chris Sabin.

[Reax: Kudos to ROH on leading off with this, as I believe it was the best match/angle on ROH TV so far this year. For my full recap and analysis, please check out the April 26 ROH TV Report.]

After the clip aired, a Kevin Kelly overdub hyped The Addiction defending their titles against reDRagon, War Machine, and The Kingdom in a Four Corner Survival match at the "Death Before Dishonor" iPPV on Friday.

[Commercial Break]

Back from break, several wrestlers wished ROH a happy 200th episode.

MEMORABLE MOMENT #2: Clips aired of Steel Cage Warfare from the July 27, 2013 edition of ROH TV. In what I believe was the only steel cage match to ever be featured on ROH TV, the team of Kevin Steen, Michael Elgin, Jay Lethal, and B.J. Whitmer defeated S.C.U.M. (Jimmy Jacobs, Rhino, Rhett Titus, and Cliff Compton). For those who missed the match or forgot, Steen turned on his former stable and forced them to disband after winning this match, almost being set on fire by Steve Corino in the process! Luckily, current ROH matchmaker Nigel McGuinness was there to make the save.

Ringside: Kevin Kelly mockingly called Steve Corino a "bad boy" because of his prior affiliation with S.C.U.M. Corino basically laughed it off.

MEMORABLE MOMENT #3: Donovan Dijak defeats Will Ferrara to win the 2015 ROH Top Prospect tournament.

[Reax: While Dijak is still one of ROH's up-and-coming stars, he seems to have been eclipsed by "Party Peacock" Dalton Castle. Dijak turning heel and joining the House of Truth has been okay so far, but it feels more like he is filling a role instead of having a chance to truly break out.]

[Commercial Break]

MEMORABLE MOMENT #4: ReDRagon defeats Matt Sydal & A.C.H. to retain the ROH World Tag Team Titles in the Tag Wars 2015 finals.

MEMORABLE MOMENT #5: A.J. Styles pins Hanson on the November 22, 2014 edition of ROH TV.

[Reax: Interesting that this match was chosen, as A.J. had classic matches with several other high-profile ROH stars over the last year. I guess it makes sense for ROH to put over Hanson by giving the impression he could hang with Styles.]

Inside ROH: Mandy Leon ran down the final Death Before Dishonor iPPV card. Some of the wrestlers on the card cut brief promos on their iPPV opponents. The segment concluded with a backstage promo from ROH World and TV champion Jay Lethal who promised to show Roderick Strong why he was "just getting started."

[Commercial Break]

MEMORABLE MOMENT #6: Michael Bennett illegally uses a steel chair to beat returning legend Lance Storm on an ROH TV episode from 2012.

1 -- HOUSE OF TRUTH (ROH World and TV champion JAY LETHAL & DONOVAN DIJAK & J. DIESEL & TRUTH MARTINI) vs. RODERICK STRONG & JAY BRISCOE & MARK BRISCOE & ODB -- eight-person inter-gender tag match

Referee Todd Sinclair called for the Code of Honor, but to no avail. The crowd chanted "J. Batista" at Diesel, who does resemble the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion (albeit a much shorter version). Martini and ODB were alone in the ring and the bell rang. They stared each other down, until Martini broke into a Spinaroonie on the mat. He quickly tagged Lethal and ODB tagged Strong. Lethal wanted no part of Strong, so he tagged in Dijak. Strong hit Dijak with some chops, but Dijak fought off the backbreaker attempt. Strong came right back with a leg lariat and then tagged in Lethal. Jay Briscoe quickly tagged in Mark who immediately hit an elbow drop on Dijak from the middle rope. The show then went to a break at 2:20.

[Commercial Break]

Back at 3:20, Dijak tossed Mark across the ring and tagged in Lethal. The champ immediately stomped on Mark in the corner and then tagged Diesel. There were some more quick tags among the heels, until Briscoe began to fight back against Dijak with some shoulder blocks. Dijak held Mark at bay for the moment, until Mark came off the ropes with a back elbow and then made the hot tag to his brother!

Jay Briscoe hit some forearms and then a swinging neckbreaker, but couldn't put Dijak away. He went for the Jay Driller, but Dijak backed him into the House of Truth's corner. Briscoe was outnumbered, as the heels began to make some quick tags again. Diesel hit a suplex on the former champion, but Briscoe kicked out at two. Truth Martini then tagged in. He tried to capitalize on the beaten down Jay Briscoe, but Briscoe hit him right in the gut. Martini quickly tagged in Lethal. Lethal applied a Cobra Clutch for a few seconds and then dropped Briscoe to the mat, as the show went to another commercial at the 8:25 point in the match.

[Commercial Break]

Back at 9:25, Jay hit a Death Valley Driver on Diesel and then made the hot tag to Strong! Roddy came in and was a house of fire against Lethal, who was also tagged in. Roddy hit a beautiful dropkick, a double-knee gutbuster and then a Sick Kick on Lethal! He went for the cover, but Diesel broke up the count. Jay Briscoe and Dijak also entered the ring, as things began to break down.

ODB tagged herself in and jumped on Lethal's back, but Martini ran in and yanked her to the mat. All of a sudden, ODB was surrounded by all four of her opponents in the ring. The House of Truth began high-fiving each other. ODB responded by taking a sip of her "liquid courage" and began throwing forearms at all four men! Her burst of offense didn't last for long, however, as Martini and Lethal both kicked her in the gut!

The Briscoes ran in, and then all eight competitors began brawling in the ring. Mark hit a dive onto Diesel, while Jay Briscoe hit a dive on Dijak. Jay Lethal then hit a dive on Jay Briscoe. In all of the commotion, Martini rolled up ODB, but she kicked out at two! Martini charged at ODB, but she spat her "liquid courage" into his eyes and rolled him up for the victory!

WINNERS: Roderick Strong, Jay Briscoe, Mark Briscoe, and ODB via pinfall in 12:43.

ANALYSIS: The match was flat until the very end. It had its moments, but this seemed more like a house show match than the final match of a PPV lead-in episode. (**1/4)

The show closed with another rundown of the Death Before Dishonor iPPV card.

FINAL REAX: Odd choice for a PPV lead-in episode, but I guess you really can't choose which week your milestone will fall on. Regardless, ROH needs to step up their game now that they are under the microscope of being on national cable TV. Today's fans will not accept a non-holiday clip show in 2015 and that is just one reason why there is little-to-no buzz leading into this Friday's iPPV.
