-- Regarding the end The Rock vs. C.M. Punk for the WWE Title in the main event, they sure went all out teasing one finish - which a chunk of WWE's audience wanted to see - and then pulled the rug out from under Punk fans with Vince McMahon interjecting himself. It was vital, of course, that Rock wouldn't accept the title under the circumstances of Punk being stripped of the title, though, and insisted on fighting to the end. Rock was clearly not able to go at full speed most of this match, but the match was structured in a way where it wasn't overly detrimental.

-- As for Rock's pre-match interview, it was a great babyface promo. No insider comments. No cutesy stuff. Just a straight-up traditional, effective promo that bonds the babyface with the fans over good values and mutual respect. Such a relief from what he engaged in last year with John Cena for months.

-- In the Royal Rumble match, what was most likely to happen and should have happened, considering WWE's goal is to draw the most money by setting up the biggest match they can for WrestleMania 29, is what happened with Cena winning. Overall, it was a very good Rumble match. The first half had its moments, but at times felt like it was just a chance to fill up the ring. Then it picked up. I'm still baffled Tensai was among the 30 that made it into the match.

-- That's not cool chanting "You Still Got It," especially at Chris Jericho. Stop it. That chant tells a wrestler, "You're old, we expected you to completely stikt it up, but so far you haven't missed many moves and you're only a little slower than in your prime." Even worse, Jericho's been gone for how many weeks?

-- Alberto Del Rio's World Title retention was among the cheapest babyface champion wins in history, along with John Cena-Batista. How do you have any pride in that kind of victory with the duct tape? It's like the person who booked that finish wasn't clued in that Big Show was the heel and Del Rio & Ricardo were now babyfaces. Unbelievable.
