Wade Keller: I don't think many people argue with the early couple years of Nitro having guaranteed contracts in order to get that top level competition. You even wrote in your book, and you intimated it here in your comment, that at some point you would have liked to have evolved into a revenue-sharing situation so the top guys had a stake in the success of WCW. I think it's that that didn't happen soon enough that people have a problem with. I don't know that many people look at you offering a flat fee with flat dates to get Hall and Nash as anything but a brilliant move.

Eric Bischoff: Well, except for that that's not often what you read and what you hear, but the problem that I had, and it's the same problem Vince McMahon has right now, Eric Bischoff's not out there offering guaranteed contracts, but Vince still does. Why is that? Because once you make that commitment, once you go down that road, it's hard to unwind it. You can't put the bullet back in the gun. And that's kind of what we were faced with. We had to make those moves in order to build the brand and to get competitive and get our feet on the ground, but once you do, how do you unwind it? You're kind of stuck with it. It's like Vince is stuck right now. Vince is giving out some guaranteed contracts that he never gave out before guaranteed contracts.

Keller: I think with the wrestlers who perform on the road, there's a guarantee that's a downside that's a worst-case scenario, but there are still are incentives if business goes well, and you stay healthy, you make quite a bit more. I think that's something top WCW guys might have been motivated by because everybody's motivated by their paycheck going up if business does well, and I think that total flat fee other than working for the next contract, I would have that in my top ten list of things that hurt WCW's long-term existence.

Bischoff: And I agree with you. I don't disagree with that at all. .....
