Wade Keller: I think you wrote in your book "warriors respect warriors."

Eric Bischoff: Yeah, maybe.

Keller: You went to battle with him (Vince McMahon).

Bischoff: I've watched Vince deal with a lot of people and he's got a heel of a game face. He's got probably one of the best game faces I've ever been around. But when you're with him... There were instances, there was a time probably six months after I started working for them when I got a phone call. They would be courteous enough to generally give me a pretty good idea on Friday what I would be doing the following Monday. Not word for word or verbatim, most of the time, not all of the time. I remember I was in Los Angeles in the middle of a meeting and I got a text message, excuse me, an email laying out that Michael Hayes thought it would be a great idea of Eric Bischoff joined the "Kiss My Ass Club." And it was really early, maybe three months, four months, five months into my tenure there. I looked at that and said, "That's the dumbest damn thing anybody could come up with. Once that happened, there's nothing else I could do." It's just stupid, no offense to Michael Hayes, because I like him. It was a dumb idea at the time.

I called Vince and I said, "This doesn't make any sense. You brought me in here because I represent something that could bring great energy and constantly good drama to the plate. Once I do this, whatever potential I have is gone, you're killing it, for the sake of one kind of silly moment." He called me back about an hour later and goes, "You're right, we're not doing that." When people say, "Ah, do you think he was trying to embarrass you," I think it's part of his DNA to always come out on top, but I don't think you could say it's a compulsive-obsessive disorder, I just think it's part of his creative genealogy to play that kind of humor. I think it gets old after a while, but hey, he's got a billion dollar market cap and I don't. (laughs)
