ROH TV HITS

Briscoes3_130WK_4.jpg
Kings of Wrestling lose to the Ninjas (The Briscoes) to cap off the three-match challenge: While some might be tired of the feud between these two teams, I'm not. You can't hold down good wrestling and good matches, and these two teams typically deliver just that. I'm looking forward to the two singles match-ups next week based on this feud and I think it will help build towards what will potentially be the end of this feud at the September PPV. The Kings of Wrestling are fun to watch. Seeing them run through two weak teams was fun while it lasted and I think everyone knew that the Briscoes would somehow end up either interfering or becoming a part of this match. No complaints on this one.

Roderick Strong vs. Christopher Daniels: This wasn't a great match considering what I expected from these two, but it was good. If there's one thing that ROH does well (among many things they do well), it's slow build-up during matches. This was another example of a match like that. I liked the finish and continue to like Truth Martini's work on a weekly basis. Dave Prazak had a very good line - "It's a great book" - right after Truth Martini hit Daniels with his book to interfere. Prazak and Hogewood are not Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross during the WWE Attitude era, but they're growing on me. This was a good match, overall, and a good way to end the show.

ROH TV MISSES

The Embassy interrupts another match: This was one of my misses last week and it got even older this week. Sadly, I think turning Necro Butcher heel has been a failure. He is a character that most people seemed to like and there hasn't been much emphasis on his transition to being a heel. They also interrupted a decent match between The Dark City Fight Club and The American Wolves. The match itself was okay, but I'd really like to see Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards focus more on singles at the moment. Edwards is amazing as the TV champ. I'd rather see him in more "10-minute Hunt" matches than see him part of a match used for something as annoying as this was. Back to the Embassy ... I like Prince Nana's work and I think he makes this whole faction work. However, it may be too late to legitimize what has been a failed attempt at making Necro Butcher the crown jewel of this faction. I still stand by my view that Necro needed be repackaged on TV to pull off this turn. That hasn't happened yet.
